"Thank you for attending on such short notice," Mary-Ellen thanked the doctor.
The doctor was sitting at his desk, and Slappy and Mary-Ellen pulled up a couple of chairs and sat in them.
"No problem, Mary-Ellen," the doctor said. "You told me that you would return, so I stayed in my office for a bit."
"Well, I appreciate it." She pointed at Slappy. "I had a feeling that he would not believe me that I have a baby."
"Oh." The doctor turned to him. "And you are...?"
"Slappy. Slappy Stine," he said. "I am here just to make sure that she is not tricking me."
The doctor let out a chuckle. "I can say that she is not tricking you in any way." He picked up a folder that had papers inside and handed it to him. "These are the DNA results."
Slappy slowly took the folder and opened it.
"My goodness," he muttered under his breath.
