Shelly was sitting on the sofa. She looked down at her feet and the floor and played with her fingers.
Zach, Champ, and Hannah were by her and filled with concern. Hannah kept her eyes locked on Tamara. Tamara crawled around on her blanket and cooed softly.
"I am not crazy," Shelly told herself. "I am not crazy."
Stine soon entered the room. He had his hands on his hips and shook his head sadly.
"I am sorry, Shelly," he spoke. "There was no tie."
She glanced up. Tears formed in her eyes. She could not believe that nobody but Slappy was taking her seriously.
"I saw what I saw," she said. "There was a tie in the bathtub. It...it was covered in blood!"
"You said that resembles the tie that your dad wore on the day that he died," Hannah remembered.
Shelly slowly nodded. "Yes."
Stine sighed and sat next to her. "Shelly? Are you sure that you are not seeing things?"
"What?" She sniffed. "Are you saying that what I saw was not real?"
"Well, yeah."
"Are...are you saying that I am going crazy?"
