Stine was sitting on the sofa and reading the latest news in the newspaper.
Little did he know that he was about to get some news that involved him and his family.
He let out a chuckle and set his feet on the coffee table. He then groaned and pushed up his glasses. He hated when his glasses slid down. It was a pain.
The front door opened, and then closed. Slappy came into the room. He had a disappointed look on his face.
Stine turned his head to him. "Slappy?" he said. "What is the matter? Are you still upset that Mary-Ellen has your baby?"
Slappy looked at him. "I am not upset about that anymore," he stated.
"Then why do you look sad?"
"Shelly...Shelly and I will not able to get married next month."
"That is it? You two are not even engaged."
He forced a smile on his face. "Actually..."
Shelly came in and held up her hand. The ring was on her finger.
"We are engaged!" she exclaimed happily.
