Chapter 30 cheating, fights, and just friends

Hayley pov-

After talking to Zayn the room started to fill up but Kendall was still missing. "Hey what did you do to Kendall last night she is still not here" I asked Zayn joking around. Zayn smiled and said "nothing after our little bathroom talk we finish eating and I dropped her off". I laugh and said "yeah I thought I would see you leaving the dorm shirtless again". Zayn blushed and said "why do you want too?" Wiggling his thick eyes brows, I pushed Zayn on the arm and smiled. "Why wouldn't I" Zayn was perfection, the tanned skin, strong jawline, eye lashes that girls could only dream of, etcetera.

Zayn eyes open wide and I realize that I didn't say it in my head. Before Zayn could say anything Kendall show up and smiled at Zayn and Zayn gave her a small nod as she sat in her chair. Zayn and I continued are friendly talk while Kendall tried to get his attention. It was actually funny seeing her trying and getting nothing. "Take out a pen to write, the test is about to begin" the professor said and I almost had a meltdown. Zayn squeezed my hand in front of Kendall and I wanted to pull back because I knew Kendall was thinking of all these questions in her head to ask me after class. But surprisingly I didn't pull back it actually calmed me down. "Are you okay?" Zayn questioned me I shook my head no and said "I didn't study. I don't know anything I'm not ready..." Zayn cut me off and put his hands on my shoulder. "Listen you're going to do just fine trust me okay" hearing the words coming out of Zayn's mouth made me feel so relax and calm and I almost believed him.

Zayn let go of me and took the test from the Professor and I took mine. I tried my best. I filled out all of the multiple choice but when I got to the fill in, I froze. Zayn squeezed me on my thigh and I turned to him and he slightly turned his test paper to me to look on. Zayn wanted me to cheat off of him? I never cheated before, I was always the one that got cheated off of. I was too desperate to care though. I copied Zayn's answer and corrected mine. I look up at Zayn and he had a smile on his face. I blushed so hard that my cheeks started to hurt. Zayn bite his lip and whispered "you're welcome". I smiled and whispered back "thank you". "I'm pretty sure you can find a way to thank me?" with a smirk. Zayn moved his test back to his desk and waited until the end of the class to turn it in. Kendall followed Zayn to the professor and Zayn tried to ignored her but Kendall can be very precise when she wants something and Zayn was that.

I walk over to the professor joining them and handed him my test, as he looks over it he tells me it looks like an hundred. I felt so good even though I didn't deserve it. I wanted to thank Zayn again but he already left, so I waited for Rachel, Chloe and Kendall. "Hey you and Zayn seem close?" Kendall said and I nodded and said "yeah I guess, he seems pretty cool". Kendall said "cool enough to cheat off?" I turned to Kendall and said "what's matters are you jealous are something" in a harsh tone that I never thought I could say. Kendall whispered "if you want my sloppy second's fine go have him!" "He was never yours." I said equally as harsh as Kendall's remark. My conscious adds 'he was always mine' but luckily that didn't slip out. Out of nowhere Kendall pushed me knocking my books down. I gape but quickly recover and I pushed back knocking her down, she grabs me as she falls down making me fall on top of her. I didn't want to fight with Kendall so, I just lift myself off and ran out of the building.

I text Jason telling him what happened, even though we weren't on best terms I needed him. He immediately calls me in seconds. Jason tells me to calm down and meet him at the coffee house. We stay on the phone until I got there, "Hayley calm down you will work it out" as he wipes my tears with his thumbs. I hold Jason and he wraps his arms around me. I continue to cry on his shoulders and Jason pulls back and wipes my tears again. I finally pull it together and we sat down and told me to tell him everything that happened today. I didn't want to hold anything back from Jason so I just told him leaving out that I drunk off of Zayn and Zayn's comment about me drinking after him.

After telling Jason he stares at me and says "you talk to Zayn, cheated off of him?" and let him touch me on my thigh and shoulders, my conscious adds as Jason tries to make sense of this. Jason bite his lip and said "so I see that you two are friends now after all he had done to me..." you mean what you done to him, you got in his face" Jason stare at me and said "are you taking his side?" I shook my head and said "no, I'm on your side!" I lied to Jason I wasn't just going to tell him that I am favoring Zayn side and that the next day I almost broke up with you just to be with him. Jason wasn't to convince by my answer but he changed the topic.

When the waitress got here she asked what we wanted, after Jason place his order I told her I wanted just a cup of coffee, Zayn's cup tasted so good that I wanted more. The waitress nodded and wrote it down, Jason stared at me and said "since when you drink coffee?" I smiled and said "today' and turned to my phone hoping to avoid the awkward talk. The waitress came back to the table and asked what kind? I didn't know, anything about coffee I look at her and said "the regular one?" she smiled and nodded at me, she must have known that I was new to this. I smiled back and stared at my phone.

When the waitress got back I took a slip out of the cup and it tasted horrible. Jason smiled and said "no more coffee for you huh?" I smiled and nodded at Jason. After Jason paid we left and walk to his car. Jason held my hand as he drove with one on the wheel. I realized that Jason and I haven't kiss in a long time usually are lips were inseparable well until I met Zayn. I decided just to go with it. When Jason pulled out in front of my dorm building I kissed him. Jason kissed me back and pulled away. "Does that mean we are good?" I nodded and pulled Jason head to mine. Jason's kisses wasn't like Zayn's it didn't bring butterflies to my stomach, nor made me blush, nor consumed me with every touch. Jason pulled back and said "bye" I gave a fake smiled and nodded.

I was standing in front if the door, scared to enter my shared dorm seeing Kendall burning my stuff or worst. When I took a deep breath, I open the door slowly Kendall was sitting on the edge of her bed and stared at me I couldn't tell if she was mad or sad. "Hey?" I said nervously as I close the door. Kendall smiled and said " hey, I'm sorry I shouldn't be so jealous but I think that I like him and I saw the way he was staring at you as you struggles during the test and he held you trying to calm you down before the test and you guys were laughing and talking... I just got upset." Kendall said all at once, but I caught every word.

I smiled at Kendall and grab her into a tight hug. We both laugh as we laid on Kendall's bed. Kendall got a text message and I said "Zayn?" she smiled and nodded. I actually wasn't even jealous anymore the two people I care about dating each other I got up and laid on my bed and Kendall said "he wants to come over?" I put my shoes back on and said "invite him then". Kendall yarned and text Zayn back bye see you later. Even though I wasn't jealous, I still wouldn't want to be there with them. I walk into the hall way and stop and told Jason I was coming to his dorm room to spend the night. I was already in the lobby ready to take the campus bus to Jason's dorm building.

When I opened the door outside Zayn was there. He look amazing, just wearing a simple black shirt and dark jeans and some black sneakers. Zayn smiled as my mouth opened seeing him like this, too hot and inches away from me. "Hayley are you going to let me in or are just going to stare at me?" I smiled and said "I haven't decided yet". Zayn laughed and bite his lip and said "take your time I don't mine". I blushed and said "Kendall is waiting for you upstairs". Zayn said "ugh, I don't want to go see her right now". "Wait what you said that you wanted to come over?" "No, she practically force me. Ever since after bio, she's been trying to convince me and since I knew you live here I agreed-wait were you leaving?" "You came here to see me?" Zayn nodded and said "you're my only friend" I look at Zayn and said "what about Harry, Liam, Louis and Niall". "yeah we are but you're better to look at" with a charming smirk at the corner of his lips.

I shook my head trying not to blush and said "friends aren't supposed to check out there other friends." Zayn smiled and came closer to me and I tried to back up but Zayn hold my waist keeping me in my spot. "Where are you going?" he whispered too close to my face, his minty breath hitting me. "I'm going to see Jason". Zayn came even closer to me leaving no space between us. I can hear his heart beating steadily, while start to speed up. Zayn turn his head to my ear and whispered "it would be so much easier for us if you were single so we didn't have to pretend that we are just friends". I almost fainted into Zayn arms as he whispered those words slowly into my ears. His deep accent made everything so... so intense and amazing.
