"Farkle do you hate me?" He had been silent and stoic for way too long it was starting to make me feel uncomfortable.

"Hate you? No- I just," I had finally gained the courage to tell him about Riley during lunch in the loud bustling cafeteria. Maybe it was a little cowardly because I knew he couldn't react crazy without drawing unwanted attention. "I-"

"It's okay to hate me." I stare down at the discolored cafeteria tile.

"My best friend," he whispered out after a few minutes "And my sister."

"Yes we've gotten that far already," Missy chimed out impatiently.

"Shut up let him process it." I scold her and she just shrugs in response. My sudden decision to confess was all due to Missy annoying me every second I was with Farkle. I still don't know why she was being so helpful and friendly but I needed to focus on one thing at a time.

"I had one rule."

"But Farkle it's not like we are some casual thing." I started feeling jittery as I tried to reason with him. It was never going to be casual, I knew I wanted it to be more than just some fling.

"How the hell did it even start." His voice was rough and his fists were starting to ball up. It had been awhile since I'd seen him so upset.

"I don't know it just happened we just kissed and-"

"You've kissed!"

"Well isn't that obvious," Missy interrupted again and this time I smacked her arm lightly.

"So all those times I've found you in her room you guys were just having make out sessions behind my back! While I'm there! Maya!" He slammed his fist on the table earning glares from some people around us.

"It's not like I didn't want to tell you! I really did but I knew you'd react like this." I felt frustrated at the way he was acting and how awful it was making me feel.

"How the hell am I suppose to react? My best friend and my little sister are hooking up. It's like a slap in the face!" He spun around so that he was facing me and I could see the anger and confusion on his face. His jaw was tense and his arms were crossed.

"Farkle this is different!"

"Yeah? Well how about you tell me how it's different." He couldn't keep his gaze on me for longer than a minute without huffing in frustration.

"I'm serious about her, it's not just a casual thing to me." I whispered out feeling weak as I opened up about how I truly felt.

"My best friend," he repeated but this time I wasn't sure if he was upset.

"And my sister," he looked over at me again his face seeming more calm then before "I could get used to the idea."

"Farkle are you serious!" I felt happy for a moment before thinking back to Riley and how we weren't exactly talking at the moment. "I'm glad you're not upset about the idea, but I don't even think Riley wants to see me right now."

"You're Maya Hart! Use that wit and charm." He smiled putting a hand on my shoulder.

"It's not that easy shes been crazy for Lucas and she's been ignoring me." I think back to their date a couple days ago. I wonder if he had kissed her when he brought her home. Did they hold hands as they walked? Did he put those rough hands anywhere else? I shook my head trying to clear my head from this torture of not knowing.

"Well how about you start by asking her to Homecoming?" Farkle flashed a sneaky grin. He was definitely on to something, she couldn't say no if I did some kind grand gesture, right?

"Yeah sweetie! You don't realize how much of a chance you have." Missy whispers into my ear making me cringe because it tickled. "I told you he wouldn't hate you."

"And I told you I hate it when you whisper in my ear out of no where," I bit back glaring up at her.

"How does she know about all of this?" Farkle yelled "and before me?"

"Because she eavesdropped on a conversation your sister and I had, if she hadn't she definitely wouldn't be someone I told."

"It's not eavesdropping if you guys stumbled into a room you thought was empty," missy rolled her eyes slipping off the table and onto the chair.

"Wait what were you guys doing in an empty room together?" Missy winked at him raising her eyebrows but I smacked her lightly again. She just wanted to rile Farkle up and he was just starting to chill out.

"Just talking I swear!" I shout out blushing at the thought of the other things we could've been doing.

"This goes without saying but as her older brother I have the responsibility of beating you up if you hurt her." Missy and I chuckle a little at the thought of him beating me up. I've known Farkle for years, we wrestled as kids, and he had never beaten me once.

"Farkle you know I don't want to hurt you." I try to stop my light laughter.

"You won't I'll be the one doing the hurting." The way he said it was so serious I couldn't help but start to laugh again.

"Anyways I think I already hurt her." I think back to our conversation. It's not like I wanted her to see someone else I was just muttering our dumb things and couldn't stop myself.

He looks at me sadness in his eyes "This is me as your best friend talking. We just have to get you back in the game you're so much better than that Lucas guy."

"Yeah you're pretty soft on the eyes."Missy hops into my lap ruffling my hair with her hand.

"Can you stop that." She stops but not soon enough. I hear a banging and I catch the sight of Riley walking out of the cafeteria with her friends in a hurry. As Riley gets to the door she looks one last time her eyes moving from Farkle before looking at me and Missy. She glared angrily before she turned away leaving the cafeteria with her friends.

"Oops did I do that?" Missy let out innocently.

Farkle glares at her before standing up and pulling her up and off my lap.

"Hey don't be so rough! Jealousy is good at least we still know Riley likes her, if she didn't she wouldn't have reacted like that." Missy crossed her arms defensively.

"So what's the plan for homecoming?" Farkle looks down at me and I zone out for a second. Trying to come up with the perfect idea, the perfect way to ask Riley out. She was a typical teenage girl who loved those old romantic comedies where the guy gets the girl, where he runs out onto the field and asks her before the big game. That's it!

"The football game!" I smile widely proud of myself. Now I just had to come up with the perfect way to ask her. I knew the time and place now I just needed some help.

"That sounds cheesy," Farkle laughs "but for my sister it sounds perfect."
