We decided to take the subway over to the downtown area to keep out of the traffic that built up around the area. It helped ease the tension because there were so many people crammed it forced us to all spread out. Riley managed to find a seat just before Farkle could. This didn't help decrease the feud they were suddenly having.

When we finally entered the shop the cashier offered us a warm 'hello'. I would die for a job like this it was laid back and you were surrounded by music. This place was a secret hideaway for music lovers and ever since I stumbled upon it I've been coming as many times as I could. Farkle took his opportunity to stay by the cashier complimenting her dyed hair and spilling out pick up lines that seemed to make her blush.

Riley was wandering down aisles scanning over all of the records and cd's.

"So what's your type?" I casually walk in step with her going towards the back of the shop.

"My type? Like person?" Her stuttering was funny and her blushing cheeks were cute.

"I know me obviously," I raise my eyebrows suggestively making her turn even more red. "But I meant in music."

"Oh," Riley let out a breath of relief. "How about since you enjoy teasing me so much you share a song with me first." Her arms crossed as she stared back at me.

"Fine okay," Raising my hands up in defeat I slowly turned around going a couple aisles down before returning. "Go sit." I pointed towards two seats with a small table between them holding up a radio.

Grabbing the cd out I placed it gently into the disc holder. Two pairs of headphones were connected by an extension coming from the radio. Placing mine on my head I adjusted so that they laid perfectly over my ears.

"Your turn darling." I grabbed the second pair placing it over her ears making sure it was nice and snug. I gave her a questioning look and she responded with a thumbs up. I wanted to stay there longer in front of her. I wanted to feel those soft looking cheeks of hers. Disappointment filled me because I knew I'd never get the opportunity to ever do that.

Pressing play I sat down into the chair. I just hoped she liked the music. Her eyes shut closed as she began to listen to the words and beat, I followed after her closing my own. We managed to get about halfway through the song when it came to a stop. I opened my eyes glaring at the two boys in front of me. One was Farkle and the other some random stranger.

Peeking over to Riley I could see her eyes lighting up. Great, just fucking fantastic. I won't say he was cute but he definitely wasn't ugly. Every part of me wished he was but sadly nothing ever worked out for me.

"Hi I'm Lucas," His lips parted into a smile revealing a nice set of pearly whites. "Farkle tells me we go to the same school. I just moved here from Texas."

"Hello there cowboy." Lucas frowned at me but was quick to recover masking how the nickname bothered him.

"Maya I'm assuming?" Maybe he was smarter than he looked.

"The one and only." I felt like my distaste for him was seeping through my words.

"That must mean you are Riley." Lucas shot out his hand extending it towards her. My stomach began to bubble he didn't shake my hand there was no reason to shake hers. My teeth clenched he was really starting to piss me off. She extended her hand out to shake but he turned it instead bringing it up to his lips leaving a kiss on the back of her hand. Riley started to giggle and blush showing him her dimples. "You have a cute sister."

"Dude." Farkle looked a little pissed off to but I would bet 100 dollars he wasn't as pissed as me.

"I should go. I'll see you guys on Monday," he turned leaving a different impression on each of us and the one I was most worried about was the one he left on Riley. I watched her as her eyes followed him out of the store. I've never felt so shitty before, well I have but not recently. Rule number one you should never set yourself up for anything and until now I had followed that rule. Now I was learning why I always did because it was disappointing realizing the truth, and the truth was that I was never going to have a chance.

"I should get going to." I hurried out of the store feeling my breathing getting harder and my eyes starting to blur. I hated all the things I was feeling it's been a very long time since I've had to suppress these things.
