"It's only the second day Maya!" Farkle slammed his head down onto his desk luckily it wasn't loud enough to grab everyone's attention just the few students close by.

"If I have to listen to those damn upperclassmen talk about how cute my sister is in the locker room one more time I'm going to explode."

"Can't help you out there bud." I looked over trying to give him a sympathetic look.

"It's torture. I've been able to get zero numbers following her to classes making sure little perverts don't try to ask her out it's taking the life out of me. If I don't get any lady time I might just evaporate." He sat up sliding down in his chair slowly.

"Ew, well when you do make sure you don't evaporate anywhere near me I don't want your Farkle particles." I continued doodling on my paper I was determined to fill up the whole page during this class period.

"Come on Maya! Where's your pity? Wait I have an idea." He shot up in his seat looking over at me with a grin.

"No."

"You don't even know what it is yet." His eyebrows furrowed giving me his signature puppy dog eyes.

"I have a feeling it involves me."

"Maybe a little." Puppy eyes continued to bore into my skull. I refused to give him any attention. I refused to look his way. But my eyes betrayed me.

He smiled keeping up his hurt puppy look. "Okay it involves you a lot. Just take my sister to her classes for the rest of the day." His lip jutted out adding to his whole begging facade.

"And if she doesn't want me to?" Raising an eyebrow, I put down my pencil, shifting my body to face him. I guess I'll bite.

"Then you do it anyways. You guys have art next period, it'll be easy."

"No."

"Please! Please, I'm begging you Maya." Farkle's hands went together as he continued his begging.

"What do I get in return?" If I was going to agree to this I better be getting something in return.

"The satisfaction of watching an innocent girl keep her innocence?" He stated it like a question, probably hoping that it would be enough to get me to agree.

"No." Saying it seemed so natural after I had said it so many times during this conversation.

"Okay! Okay I'll buy you ice cream for a week?" Now that was more like it but I think he could do better. I rubbed my chin between my fingers pretending like I was contemplating this offer.

"Make it a month." I smiled wide thinking about all the flavors I've been wanting to try out.

"No."

"Then no." I was quick with my response. I turned back towards the front pretending to pay attention to what the teacher was blabbering on about.

"Okay a month," His response was muffled as he said it through gritted teeth.

"Farkle, Maya, do you two care to explain to the class what you guys are whispering about?" The teacher glared over to the both of us.

"Um sorry." Farkle squeaked out. He's always been a teachers pet never wanting to do anything fun to disrupt class. How we became best friends, who knew?

"No." I bit back watching the teachers face turn a little red from anger.

"I suggest you two stop talking and start reading before you end up in detention." He threatened back. I wasn't scared but looking to the pleading eyes of Farkle I backed off.

"Yes sir." Farkle yelled smiling. He was happy I hadn't caused a bigger scene.

"Whatever," I whispered into the air in front of me. Picking up my pencil I continued to scribble whatever came to mind.

"So you'll do it?" Farkle made sure his whisper was low enough for just me to hear.

"Fine."

The conversation was cut off after that. Farkle stuck his face down into his book and read like the rest of the class. Obviously not literally but you know what I mean. I threw my belongings into my backpack as the bell rung shortly after.

"Grab a sheet on your way out it'll have your assignment on it for today." The teacher grumbled out as I passed his desk first. Grabbing the first sheet I sent him a fake smile. What are the chances of me doing this assignment? A big fat 0%.

As I escaped the room and entered the hall I shoved the paper into my backpack walking casually over to where the freshman English class was. Standing by the door I looked in, Riley was smiling and asking her teacher some questions about the lesson. Of course with Mr. Matthews as her dad and Farkle her brother I shouldn't have excepted anything else.

"Hey little Matthews," I smiled at her as she stepped out of her classroom.

"Please don't keep that nickname," she laughed rolling her eyes at me.

"Okay I'll make a mental note," I pretended to check off an invisible list. "You heading to art class?"

"Yeah, but I have to stop by my locker first," She weaved through the other students filling up the hallway. It was hard to keep up with everyone in my way so I just started pushing through forcefully. After a couple ow's and yells from others they finally got the message to not get in my way.

"I guess I'll tag along."

"Please don't tell me my brother sent you over to watch me now?" Riley turned around quickly. If I wasn't paying attention I would've definitely ran right into her.

"That obvious huh?" I gave her an innocent smirk.

"Well the fact that you've been best friends for years and have never given me a second glance kind of makes it obvious." Her response seemed harsh I couldn't help but feel guilty. She must've read something my face gave off because her expression softened. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean-"

"No it's okay I deserved that but you aren't getting rid of me," I stepped closer to her we were a person apart now.

"What did he promise you?" Her expression turned mischievous. She would have to do better then that to try to get any information out of me. I'm Maya Hart, a steel safe, locked up tight.

"You don't think I'd do this out of the kindness of my own heart?" I took Farkle's go to move and made puppy dog eyes, pouting a little.

Riley rolled her eyes again. This usually worked on everyone. "Maya Hart doing something out of the kindness of her heart? I've heard stories about you." She got closer and my mind went blank as she put two fingers on my chest hovering them up to my chin grabbing it to hold me in place. "I'll ask again. What did he promise you?"

"Ice cream for a month." Shit way to go! Steel safe? More like a cheap plastic safe that easily melted from her touch.

"How about I promise you ice cream for two months?" I felt her breath as she whispered into my ear. Her face was so close to mine. I never knew Riley could be so bold. I brushed off whatever she was making me feel as I grabbed the hand holding my chin and twirled her around pushing her forward to walk to her locker.

"Sorry princess not going to happen," I whispered in her ear as we kept walking. Two can play at that game.
