*Maya's POV*

I drove as quick as I could and as far as I could away from that school gym. I didn't think seeing them together would hurt me as much but the kiss was the last straw. Missy was good at distracting me and for awhile I started to have a little fun but every glance up at Riley and my stomach would drop. My phone buzzed lighting up my cup holder. I took a hand off my steering wheel reaching down to grab it but my passenger got to it first, snatching it away.

"It's not good to drive and be on your phone," she scolded and I just rolled my eyes focusing on the road and scattered cars in front of me.

"Yeah, yeah who is it?" I didn't want her to go on and on like everyone else who told me not to glance at my phone while I'm driving.

"Your girlfriend," her response made me laugh, had she not seen what happened today? The closest thing I had to a girlfriend right now was her.

"Good one, way to make jokes so early on." I sunk into my seat feeling like a sad wounded animal.

"No really," Pulling into Missy's driveway I parked looking over in disbelief. "Looks like she needs you."

Even after she showed me the message I was still hesitant to believe it was true. My face flushed of any emotion a second later realizing Riley would have never texted me this unless it was an emergency. They looked so comfortable smashing each others lips together how could anything go wrong? I just hoped the scenarios my mind was running through were wrong.

I pulled my phone from her hand and texted Farkle asking if they had gotten home safe and he was quick to respond. It couldn't have been anything too crazy he would've told me but maybe he didn't know what happened. My heart was beating fast and I could feel my hands shake in anger and fear worried about the girl I cared so much about. I shifted into drive and was about to lift my foot off the break when I realized Missy was still in my car. Shifting back into park I looked over to her as she studied me.

"Tonight was fun," she extended her hand and ruffled my hair, "So thank you."

"You're welcome." If anything I felt like I should be thanking her.

"Now go get your damsel in distress maybe you can win her over." She opened my door climbing out and shutting it closed. I waited until she got into her house safely before I drove off with a jumble of thoughts swimming through my mind.

I made a quick pit stop at my house and wasn't surprised that it was empty. I didn't bother to turn on any lights instead I fumbled to my room in the dark. In and out as fast as I could. Getting back to her car with a backpack full she floored it to her next destination. The Matthews residence. It was already late Riley's parents were probably already asleep so the best option seemed to be the bay window. Reminiscing on the moments when she had snuck in to see Riley without making Farkle or her family suspect anything was going on between them made her feel hopeful. The backpack was tightly strapped she wasn't going to take any chances of letting it fall.

Once she got to the right window she peered in seeing the light glow of the TV and the silhouette of Riley covered in blankets. Lifting up the window she stepped in quietly not wanting to wake the girl if she was already asleep. Closing it behind her she locked it not wanting any unexpected visitors.

"Hey," Maya whispered to see if she got any response but there was none. She opened her backpack and pulled out a change of clothes and changed out of the gown she had been wearing. She stuffed the dress in and pulled out some dvds going over to the TV and DVD player. She entered in a disc and let it play as she moved over towards the bed. Patting the lump she tried to wake Riley up a bit so she wouldn't be so scared of her sudden presence. Riley stirred and shuffled a little before turning to face the source of noise.
