"hold on mom, ill be right there!" i run downstairs, where the bus is waiting for me. i shove a piece of toast into my mouth and run outside.
"Love you mom!"
"Love you too sweetie! Have a good day!" She shouted as i sprinted to the bus stop. i got on, and now for the hard part, where to sit.
i saw a nice looking boy in the very back of the bus. i walk back there quickly.
"Hi I'm Shane, can i sit here?" He looked up at me with Beautiful blue eyes.
"Sure!" he said excitedly. i sat down and he held out his hand.
"I'm Ryland." I shook his hand.
"I'm Shane." I just moved here.
"Oh, from where?" He asked sounding genuinely interested.
"California. My mom got a job offer." I said.
"Oh that's really cool! I've always wanted to go to California."
We continued with small talk and i came to learn that he was born and raised in Colorado, he has a little sister named Morgan, and a cat named Cheeto.
We finally got to school and he asked to see my schedule.
"Looks like we have 5 out of 7 classes together! That's pretty good!"
"Yeah, I'm glad at least one person i know is in those classes."
"Well, the bell is about to ring, do you know where you're going?" He's so helpful, i thought to myself.
"Yeah, i think so. I'll see you in... i paused to look at my schedule .... third?"
"Yup! see ya there!"
"Alright, see ya." i looked back and saw him walk away, and a feeling of sadness washed over me. Why do i get so sad when he's gone? i shook it off and went on to class. i spent first and second period feeling really sad. i moped to third, and as soon as i saw Ryland i felt happy again. Weird. i thought. Ryland caught my gaze and waved me over to their science table.
"Hey Shane!"
"Hey Ryland!"
"So, i have some introducing to do. This is Drew,"
he said as he pointed to a long, dark haired boy across the table. he waved shyly, and i waved back.
"This is Garrett,"
he pointed to a light brown haired boy in the corner. he waved excitedly.
"and this is Joey."
He pointed to a white haired boy to the right of me, and he smiled and said hi.
"Hi everyone, I'm Shane."
Everyone started talking to me, asking about my life. i answered all except one.
"So, Shane, now that were all best friends, i guess we can tell you our sexualities. If you're ok with it of course."
i was pretty ok with people gay and shit, so i nodded and said sure.
"Ok, cool. Well, Garrett, me, and Ryland are gay."
I said cool and started walking to the canteen while they walked up with me.
"Shane, if you don't mind sharing, whats your sexuality?" Ryland asked.
Wow, What do i tell them? I've been confused my whole life, being told that being gay was a sin.
"I...I... don't know. i stuttered out."
"Oh." They all said in unison. my face turned bright red as a stared at the floor.
"Hey, hey, it's ok. you don't have to know." Ryland said, picking up my chin and staring into my eyes. i stared back and mouthed thank you.
I got home with that question on my mind. I got on my computer, and searched up a quiz for
finding out my sexuality. I took it, and it said i was bisexual, liking girls and boys. i shook my head and slammed my laptop shut. i closed my eyes and thought about Ryland. The way he stared into m eyes with compassion, almost, love.
Hey guys, long chapter, for me at least. What do you think? Comment stuff you wanna see in the book!
