Finally, a doctor came in and saw that I was awake.
"Hi Shane. Don't try and speak, you won't be able to for a while. If you have any questions, write
them on this white board and I'll try my best to answer them."
He handed me a white board and there was only one question on my mind, where is my husband?
I wrote it on the white board and he took a deep breath and sighed.
"Ryland didn't make it."
My entire world shattered at that moment. So many memories flashed by at that moment. The waterfall, our first vacation, the day we proposed, its all gone.
"I'm so sorry Shane."
'Is my dog ok?' I wrote
"Yes he ran out just fine, but Ryland let him go after he fell."
'When can I go home?'
"Not for a while Shane. We've called your mom and she is coming to see you soon. "
'OK, thank you.'
"Of course, Just ring this bell on the desk if you need anything."
I have nothing to live for anymore, nobody to love. Ryland was my everything, now I feel like I have nothing. I'm empty.
A few weeks went by, and people have come and go with flowers and cards, but nothing can make up for the fact that the love of my life won't be in my life anymore. I haven't even cried yet, I'm so numb. I feel like this isn't real and I hope it isn't. I can't live without Ryland. I have no home, an injured pet, and no husband.
My boy is gone.
