Me and Shane decided to go to Maine for our honeymoon.

We pulled up to our Air B&B and we were ecstatic. We saw an amazing lake, a two person paddle boat, and a small house with a queen bed. It was perfect. We started unpacking.

"Isn't this perfect!?" Shane said looking out at the dock and all the rocks.

"It's even more perfect with you here baby." I said grabbing his waist and pulling him in for a kiss.

"I love my beautiful husband." He said staring into my eyes.

I stared back into his and said,

"It's nice to be able to say that huh?"

"It really is. It's also hard to believe that the person I love the most in this world is finally mine." Shane said smiling.

"I love you."I said.

"I love you too." I said back.

"Lets go swimming!!" He said with a childish grin on his face.

"Ok you eight year old boy lemme get my swim trunks on."

Shane giggled and went outside.

We got outside and the water was the perfect temperature. The tide was going down so we could climb on the rocks. There were multiple islands that disappeared when the tide went up. We explored the island for a few hours and found a couple snakes, a few pretty flowers, and we marked our names on our favorite tree, a tall pine. We by the time we even thought about going back, the tide was already coming up... fast. Soon enough, we were trapped.

"What are we gonna do?!" I said panicking.

"Ryland I'll be ok baby."

"Shane! Do you understand our situation?"

"Ry, let's just swim!

"Oh no. No. No. No. Absolutely not."

"Ryland I've seen you swim before, you'll be ok in the water!"

"Shane it's not that. Did you see how many rocks were in the water before the tide came up? We're bound to cut ourselves."

Shane started looking around the island for anything to help get back to the house. His eyes fell on a small piece of wood that was just peaking out from behind a rock.

"There's some drift wood over there, that might help a little bit." He said pointing.

"Ok, let's go grab it." I said as we started walking towards it.

As we got closer and saw the other side of the rock, we realized that it was, in fact, a boat.

"Oh my gosh Shane! We hit the jackpot!"

"Is that a boat?" He asked following closely.

"Yes!" I said looking at the rickety old boat in front of me. It was made of pine wood and nails. It didn't seem to have any holes in it and seemed to never been used.

"Wow. This is like a movie." Shane said laughed.

We pulled the boat our of the sand and from behind the rock. We pushed it to the water and got into it. It wobbled a bit, but then it steadied out as we grabbed the sides. We slowly set off and paddled with the tide. We were more than relived when we finally got onto land.

"Ry, come sit with me." Shane said as I started heading back to the house.

"Ok baby." I said turning and walking in the other direction.

The sky was just starting to turn a brilliant shade of pink as I sat down beside Shane.

"Wow." I breathed.

"Yeah right, It's almost as beautiful as you." Shane said pulling me in closer to him.

"What did I do to deserve you?" I said as I kissed him softly.

As soon as we pulled away, the sun had almost disappeared on the horizon.

We made a fire, made s'mores, and went to sleep.

"Goodnight Husband."

"Goodnight Shaney."
