This whole chapter is in spanish so that is why the English speaking isbold so I do not have a huge translation section.
Chapter 15
I’m Married Papi
Angelica
A maid walked in and opened up the curtains. Light beamed down on the bed and into Angelica’s tear stained eye. Her eyes squinted as they opened unwillingly. She looked down at the semi-wet pillow and then sat up. Her hair was matted from tears and staying in one position. Angelica looked down at the pillow sadly, barley noticing the presence of the maid. The maid opened the cherry oak vanity. Inside were expensive dresses and night gowns. The maid looked at the pale, sad face of Angelica and frowned. The young maid went to the table with a large mirror on top of it and grabbed the ivory teethed comb. The chamber maid went and sat on the bed behind her and gently began untangling the ratted mess of black hair. The maid hummed a sweet Spanish lullaby as she combed. Angelica was grateful for the kindness of this maid knowing that the chamber maid would be in deep trouble if she got caught. The maid finished and then sat in front of her.
“Do you want breakfast my lady?” The maid said sweetly. Angelica shook her head no not wanting to eat. “A bath then?” Angelica nodded getting a good look at the maid. The maid was an African, and was not as young as she thought. The woman looked to be in her mid-thirties. Her face was worn from the years of bondage. She had a face of a mother, but hurt and desperation filled her eyes. The maid left and came back hauling a large metal tub. A large group of butlers and maids came in hauling warm water and poured each bucket into the tub filling it halfway. The tub filled to three fourths full and then everyone left, but the African maid. She went to Angelica. “Shall I help you unchanged?” Angelica shook her head no and did it herself. Angelica sighed as she amerced her body in the steaming hot water. The maid left and soon returned with two buckets. The maid handed her a bar of lavender scented soap so that she could wash herself. As Angelica did that the maid sweetly washed her hair with another bar. With the buckets she rinsed out Angelica’s hair being careful not to get soap in the mistresses eyes. The maid helped Angelica out and gave her a hot towel to dry herself off as she showed Angelica the clothing options. Angelica chooses a dress that was a little like the one her father had gotten her but only lighter, no collar, and a sky blue. The maid helped her dress.
“What is your name?” Angelica asked the maid. The maid looked at her shocked as she buttoned the front.
“Hannah…” She said sadly. Angelica shook her head.
“No your real name” The maid’s eyes teared up. No one, Angelica assumed, had ever cared enough to even consider her as a human, let alone ask her African name.
“Gugu” she said as a tear ran down her face, “It means precious person…Which I use to be..” she turned when she was finished and walked to the door. “Your father is in his office that is on the east wing, third floor, second door on the right.” Gugu left closing the door behind her. Angelica stared at the door as Gugu left. She wanted to help the woman who had shown her kindness, but she had no idea how. Shaking her head sadly she looked down at her ring. Sighing she walked towards the door and opened it. The castle was large and she had no idea what side of the castle she was even on. A butler passed by carrying a large breast plate of armor. He told her how to get to her fathers office then left holding the armor carefully. She weaved through out the many corridors and finally found the door to her fathers temporary office. Taking a deep breath she opened the door.
