Cassie
Here is a word of advice: Never let Avery Lamberhart eat too much chocolate.Because her being her already goofy self, only added on to the sugar highs she always got. Aves was definitely twice the goofy and twice the Avery when she was on a sugar rush.
"I will destroy you with my mystical candy bar descended from the world of Choco-Tron, Alex!" Avery exclaimed while making her Snickers bar fly around in the air.
We all burst out laughing and Veronica said with longing, still choking on laugher, "I seriously want to be more like you, Avery. Honestly, how do you do it?"
Avery tossed the candy bar aside dramatically, and she explained, "It's really not that hard, Ver. You just let go of all your responsibilities and say bye-bye."
I smiled and Emma said while pulling her liquid gold blonde hair back in a ponytail, "Honestly, words of a true queen."
Alina's eyebrow rose as she looked at the girl. "Says the girl who practically sits on the throne of queens."
Emma smiled with a happy smile. Blaire tossed her arm over her cousin's shoulder and said,
"I think all of us possess a little something that brings personality into the group. Alina is the writer, Avery is the comedian, Morgan is the artist, Emma is the queen, Veronica is the poet, Alex is the dancer, Cassie is the singer (she just won't admit it) and I'm the dreamer."
Okay, she was right. I did sing, but I always refused to come up on stage and actually sing it. It wasn't exactly stage fright, it was more of a thing where I was so afraid of being discovered and people making fun of me.
I wanted to hold on to singing and know it was truly mine, just for a little longer.
For the next hour and a half, we all wore down our energy by watching To All the Boys I've Loved Before (me and Alina have read all the books and loved Peter Kavinsky with all our hearts), and by one in the morning, we finished up the movie and were talking quietly among ourselves.
"I want a Peter Kavinsky," Emma commented, being the perfect mood.
Morgan added on, "He's such a package deal. He's so perfect."
We all sighed dreamlike in key.
Suddenly, Alina converted the subject easily, "Then again, the Stray Kids clique is perfect."
Everyone's head turned to me. I knew exactly what they were asking.
"Is he perfect, Cassie?" Alex asked, propping on her elbow while laying next to Avery on the bed with Emma.
I settled in the bean bag I was in and said, "Well, when you know someone for a decade and they make it hell for you, their far from perfect. Felix has imperfections that he probably doesn't want anyone to see. Yet...he's perfect because those imperfections make him the boy he's always supposed to be."
