Cassie
A day had passed, and I sat in the Starbucks in the Portland Mall with my girls. We all were quick to agree that we definetly should hang out before any of us flew down to see other parts of family for Thanksgiving break, which settled with me perfectly well.
Yet I still couldn't help thinking about Felix over and over again, my mind drifting back go yesterday several times that day.
To the point where I was getting brutally teased for it.
"Cassie must be in another land today. Felix land to be exact." Avery teased, her usual jokester side shining through, making me and the rest of the girls laugh.
"Just a little lovesick is all, Aves. Speaking of lovesick," Seven pairs of eyes--including my own--drifted to the dreamy eyed Alina who was taking a sip out of her latte to my right.
She froze mid-sip, giving us all a wide eyed look that turned into a sigh, something that told us all not to get too excited. "Don't even. Me and Chan are non-existent."
I wanted to scream in frustration. Even after acing their experiment, Chan and Alina clearly were still acting all shy with each other. I desperately wanted Chalina (oh yes, I just broke out the ship name), to be confirmed, but I knew stuff like this took time. And I was willing to sit back and watch all of it unfold with a smile on my face.
However Blaire, who sat across the table with her flaming red hair caught in the florescent lighting was the one to say words of wisdom.
"Alina, anyone would be able to see how in love that boy is with you. But after all, Chan is a tease sometimes. I mean come on, this is Chan we're talking about."
I considered her words, totally understanding what she was trying to say.
"My cousin's right." Emma pinched in, her beautiful face focused as she looked to Alina. "Boys often play hard to get when their attracted to a girl. Maybe he's waiting for you to make the first move."
"Wouldn't surprise me." Alina murmured with the ghost of a smile on her face. "Basically, Chan is every boy I've ever written about on Wattpad and more."
"Oh, yes." Morgan said while sipping her green tea. "Mysterious, dark, brooding, hot, and we can't forget the most obvious trait of all: he'll bring out into singing Toxic like no one's buisness."
We all burst out laughing, making me say, "I have to ask Felix and the boys to do that for Christmas. Sing Britney Spears songs on repeat for hours while I record it. Imagine how many views on YouTube they'd get."
"Imagine all the thirsty fangirl comments on how good they look." Alex said, running a hand smoothly through her brown hair.
More laughs, making Veronica state the most true fact I've heard thus far into the year.
"They do tend to look good without trying."
Each of us nodded our heads in agreement, my pumpkin spice latte suddenly very warm as I thought of Felix's signature smile. His dimples made him all the much more cuter.
"I've had this thought for a while," Alex mused with a finger on her chin. "Which boy out of all nine of them would most likely get into a fight over a toy truck at Black Friday shopping?"
I nearly spit out my coffee from imagining the guys Black Friday shopping. Now that was something to add to my never ending bucket list.
"My bets are on either Hyunjin or Jisung." Emma pressed.
All eight of us shared a look of obviousness, and in unison as we said with a nod, "Hyunjin."

By the time I got home it was already the afternoon, which meant when I walked through the door I got to see my grandmother and grandfather sitting at the table, engrossed in conversation over what to eat for dinner.
My grandparents were always on the move, never settling down in one place even after raising my dad. They were nomads, currently living in Mississipi. Which made me look up to them all the much more, because I simply had no idea how they could even stand moving so much. Truly, they were superheroes.
"Hey Grandma, Grandpa." I greeted while taking off my coat and scarf, smiling in their directions.
Grandpa smiled back warmly, his blue eyes still electrifying as ever as he greeted me by saying, "Welcome home, Cassie. How was the big, bustling shopping center?"
My eyebrow rose at his question, a sort of private humour behind his words sticking to me, making me refrain from laughing.
My grandfather had no care in the world for anything discovered after 1999. Well actually, me and Jade were some of the only exceptions. Then again, malls were discovered before then, but Grandpa always loved describing before telling.
My grandmother gave her husband a look, her tone suggesting that it were the most obvious thing to know what a mall was. "Hank, she went to the mall, not Wal-Mart."
I chuckled while walking to the table, finding it funny how easy it was for Grandma to correct him. Then again, that led to the heart-warming sensation of knowing my grandfather could never function without my grandmother in that aspect. When one struggles in one area, the other is always there to correct those struggles.
"Ah, of course. How was it?" He asked regardless, a expectant look in his eyes.
"Awesome. I saw my friends and even decided what to make for Thanksgiving." I smiled proudly, thankful of how excited Grandma was to hear that.
"Wonderful! Little Jade has decided to help me make the turkey, and of course the pies." Typical Jade, choosing the sweet things over all. Yet that's something I'd always love about her.
"I think I want to make the green bean casserole. Plus the dinner rolls from scratch."
Unpopular opinion: green bean casserole was actually my favorite dish in all of Thanksgiving. I just could never imagine a Thanksgiving meal without it.
My grandmother looked delighted at that in particular. "It's about time young people actually embrace the heavenly dish that is green bean casserole!" Now I know it's been confirmed that I got that gene from my grandmother. The love for green bean casserole, I mean.
"Margaret, I'm old and don't even like green bean casserole." My grandfather pushed, making Grandma roll her eyes. I giggled.
"Okay but here's the real question Cassandra, is your man coming to the Thanksgiving party?" Grandma asked.
I chocked on my own saliva, mostly because I was surprised that Grandma even knew about Felix in the first place. And secondly, because she referred to him as my man.
"Yes, actually. His family is very close to ours. But how do you know of Felix?" True intrusive thoughts stuck to me at who could possibly want to blabber about my boyfriend to my grandparents.
"Jade." They both choursed, and I sighed. Couldn't blame the kid when it was in her nature.
"Felix." Grandpa said aloud, as if he was testing the name on his lips himself. "I like that name."
"I love that name." I murmured to myself, a smile of devotion on my face.
