Chapter 37 Dancing Among The Beautiful People (edited)

The charity ball had already begun. Crystal glasses clinked together as guests toasted the evening. Ririi gasped in awe, it was as if she had stepped into a fairytale. Because of how small the theater was, Mikuni and Misono kindly obliged to have the ball at their mansion. Many beautiful people stood beside the refreshment table. Most of them were of course Licht's adoring fans, it was most likely why the turnout was a complete success. Along with Misono and Mikuni overseeing the décor.

"it's beautiful, but it isn't as beautiful as you darlin'." Ririi turned around to see Mikuni in a casual yellow button-up shirt along with a black vest, a black tie, black dress pants, and fancy dress shoes. The man really knew how to dress sharp for the occasion.

"You look amazing Mikuni!" Ririi blushed and gently took ahold of Mikuni's hand only for him to squeeze back in response "You look even better Ririi, you're stunning my darlin'."

Everything was so magical. The room had been polished and cleaned before the ball, so everything was spotless. Reflections of the beautiful people danced around the ballroom floor. Hundreds of hanging lights glowed like beautiful fireflies. The ballroom stage was set, and it was Ririi and Mikuni's night.

Licht's piano music started to magically play in the background. Mikuni smirked at Ririi and lead her to the middle of the dance floor. He sensed Ririi's hesitation as he led her out onto the dance floor. But as quickly as that hesitation appeared, it faded away once Mikuni pulled her against his chest.

"Just follow my lead darlin'."

And the pair began to dance. They danced in perfect time, Ririi's feet automatically following Mikuni's close behind. They moved in a series of soft spins and delicate steps, both in tune with one another. It was as though the couple had been dancing together for years before the night of the ball. It was true, Ririi had found her perfect soul mate.

When the music came to a halt and the ballroom fell into silence, Ririi felt a pang of sadness that the song had to end so soon. As if Mikuni knew what she was thinking, he did not let go of her hand. Instead, Mikuni led Ririi out into the private gardens.

"I haven't danced like that in so long Ririi; I almost forgot the feeling of dancing around so gracefully. I felt like nothing in the world was wrong. It was almost as if time had stopped and it was just me and you darlin'."

"I felt that way as well." Even though this was Licht's event, Ririi felt as if it was a private concert just for her and Mikuni- their first date.
