BEING HAUNTED WAS more strange than anything else. Well, it wasn't exactly a haunting, per say, but there was a ghost connected to a family ring that Leo had taken possession of that was beginning to follow him around. So, haunted. But, if he knew anything from horror movies or just TV in general, this type of haunting seemed better than others.

Granted, of course, most people weren't seeing the actual ghost of their dead mother that they had never met before this (well, at least not when they could retain any memories) when they're being haunted. Instead, they most commonly have demons – which have to exist if witches, werewolves, and ghosts did – who are trying to kill them or cause them anxiety or harm. From what Nancy seemed like, she wasn't actively trying to kill or harm Leo in a physical manner.

So it was better. This was better than usual hauntings and because of that Leo could only conclude that this haunting was strange and not dangerous. Strange because talking to a ghost is weird. Leo knows that Hogwarts is known to have ghosts floating around so the students are taught how to interact with the spirits and seeing a floating figure isn't exactly weird, but Leo wasn't a wizard.

Leo is muggle. He's just so completely human and normal and normal people don't see ghosts. If you say that you do, you get locked up in an insane asylum for the rest of your life because that isn't normal. That doesn't happen. Well, until you're dragged into the world of witches and wizards and your dead mother is killed by your father and decides to put part of your soul in a family heirloom so that she can still live in the afterlife.

Or however this becoming a ghost thing works. Leo's completely clueless and he couldn't exactly research it by going to a library. No, he'd have to go to a wizard bookstore and ask them but that's weird because he's a teenager not at school, which raises eyebrows until they learn that he's muggle. Just muggle. No magic flowing through his veins at all.

He's not bitter about it, he liked being muggle. Being muggle's great and he connected with his grandfather very well, something Maia never seemed able to do, but it's also so terribly lonely when you come from a wizarding family and no one understood what it's like for you. Because Nadia only went through primary muggle school and Remelda never went at all. No one else he knew went to muggle school either except himself.

So no one understood his classes or the homework and he couldn't ask for help when he needed it in maths. He was just alone and had to go ask his teacher or just suffer.

But he's not so normal anymore. He's a muggle and that will always be plain to wizards because he doesn't have magic and he never will. He's a Plain Jane to them and he's a weirdo to muggles. He's quiet and never talks in class, doesn't party or go out. Only has one friend who's strange but he liked it and he's introverted.
