As the day passed, I was eventually taken back to my holding cell, which sat right next to the other woman's. I sighed, resting my head in my hands.

How did I get into this again?

"Get into what again?"

I looked up. Loki stood in front of my cell with his arms resting behind his back. I chuckled nervously and shook my head.

"Nothing. Just a situation caused by a misunderstanding."

Loki raised a brow and began to pace outside of my cell. "Mr. Stark just finished running a background check on you."

I tensed, swallowing the lump in my throat as Loki continued to speak.

"You're clean, through and through." Loki chuckled, looking at me as he stopped pacing. He stood right at the glass door, his hand on the knob and his key card ready. "It seems strange that someone so clean would be mistaken for a criminal, doesn't it?"

I nodded, staring into Loki's eyes. "Mhmm."

"So tell me." Loki slowly opened the door and stepped inside of my cell. He closed the door behind himself, the lock clicking echoing through the room. "Is there anything that you're not telling me? Anything that wouldn't be in your records?"

Loki looked at me intensely now. His eyes never breaking away from mine even after a blink. I just shook my head, unable to speak and unable to look away from those green eyes that I missed so much. But before I knew it, Loki's palm was on my forehead and I was reliving every event of my life all over again.

"What type of girl are you then?" he spoke softly, crossing his arms.

"Spicy." I smirked, heating the food with my hands.

"But what?" I asked. "He just helped save not only the Avengers' asses but also civilians' and he's bad news? No wonder he always turns against you."

"I'm going to die."

"I'm pregnant."

"You better put that ring on my finger, Mischief."

I looked up at Loki as I had fallen to the floor. I felt as tears streamed down my cheeks and the look on Loki's face only made them worse. I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out.

Loki backed away, quickly unlocking and opening the door with his key card and stepping out of my cell.

"Loki...please. I can explain." I finally spoke, crawling to the door of my cell and pressing my hand to it. "Please.."

Loki shook his head and said nothing before finally turning around and running out of the room.

I sighed, looking down at the floor beneath me and watching as my last few tears landed on my pant leg.

"What was that about?"

I whipped my head to the side, shooting daggers at my neighbor. "This is all your fault."

"My fault?" She scoffed. "You're the one keeping secrets."

"Well if you weren't a criminal, I wouldn't even be here!" I shouted, standing to my feet and walking to the glass wall that separated us.

She stood as well, staring at me. "No, if you weren't such a good samaritan neither of us would be here."

"You deserve to be here." I spat.

"And you don't?" She raised a brow. "You've obviously done something terrible in your past, right? So don't come to me about being a criminal."

My eyes began to glow red, the reflection scattering across the glass. "Listen here you bi-

"That's enough!"

I stopped, quickly changing my eyes before looking to where the voice came from. Cap.

"What's going on in here?" He asked, stepping towards the cells. He looked at me and crossed his arms. "Well?"

"Ste- Captain, I can explain. Just please let me talk to Loki. Only he will understand." I exhaled sadly, walking to the door of my cell again.

Steve looked at me, keeping a close eye on my body language. After a moment he nodded and unlocked my cell. "Come on."

I smiled weakly, following Steve back into the interrogation room. I took a seat and sighed, staring into the one way mirror.

"I didn't want it to be like this." I spoke softly, shaking my head. "I only wanted everyone to be happy."

I turned my head to the door as it slowly opened. Loki stepped inside and quietly took a seat across from me. He leaned forward, resting his arms on the table top.

"I've had dreams." He whispered. "They were a lot like the things I saw in your head. Who are you? And why can't I remember the events from my dreams ever happening?"

I laughed weakly, staring down at my hands. "It's a long story. One that you saw most of earlier."

"But who are you?" Loki asked again, never taking his eyes away from me.

"My name is Aidan Breean Murray. I used to live here and at the Tower with everyone. We all used to be really close. Aodh is even my big brother, believe it or not. And you..."

I looked up to Loki and smiled sadly. "You were--are the love of my life. And Bree is our daughter. I know it's a lot, but you can go back in and see it all for yourself. Every last memory. From the first time we met all the way to the last time we saw each other in the garden. That's why I've been so comfortable around everyone. Because I know you all. You're my family."

Loki stared at me in disbelief. "Prove it."

"Breean, her powers revolve around both ice and fire, correct?" I asked, already knowing the answer.

Loki nodded. "How did you know that?"

I chuckled, holding out my left hand, palm up for Loki to see while keeping my right arm tucked beneath the table. I focused for a moment before allowing fire to dance across my palm like the small flame of a candle.

"This is where the fire comes in." I smiled, looking into Loki's wide eyes. "From me and her uncle Aodh."
