"How could you do that?!" I yelled, glaring daggers at Tony. "You know the truth and yet you made her go!"
Tony said nothing as he walked away.
"Don't you walk away from me, Stark." I hissed, gripping his forearm. He stopped and whipped his arm out of my grasp.
"I'm not arguing with you over her! It's done, over with!" He gritted, staring up at me in anger. "I don't know what she did to me but whatever I saw you saw too. It's a lie and it always has been. So stop moping and get back into your right mind!"
I growled, following Tony as he walked towards the kitchen.
"It's not a lie! She never showed me anything, I got into her mind and that's what I saw. There is no possible way for her to have those many memories in her brain for them to be fake. I can't even see things like that if they've only come from the imagination."
We both stood in the lobby, a silence filling the room after my words. We breathed heavily, glaring at each other.
Sir, there is an unknown vehicle approaching the facility.
"Pick up a face." Tony spoke monotonously, pulling out a small holographic device and waiting. Soon, a picture of two people popped up from the device. It was Aidan and Lamar. "FRIDAY let them in."
I watched as Tony angrily walked outside, his arms glued to the side. I followed behind him cautiously, waiting to see what he would do. I stood and watched as Lamar and a young girl got out of the car, practically forcing Aidan to do the same. She kept her gaze low, not daring to meet Stark's eyes nor my own.
"Loki." Lamar spoke. "We've only met once, but I just found out the truth about my best friend and I'm not going to let her run away again. She needs you and all of her little superhero friends."
I chuckled at his last statement, glancing between Lamar and Stark.
"We're not her friends and she's a liar." Tony snapped.
Aidan whipped her head up to stare at Tony. Her eyes filled with heart shattering pain and sadness at his words and she gulped down her tears.
"I'm not a liar." She spoke quietly. Her voice cracked with each word as she still held back her tears. Her face slowly contorted into a look of anger. "If it wasn't for me, Breean would he paralyzed and you would of had to make her some legs. And Bucky....Bucky would probably be dead!"
"Prove it!" Tony shouted. I looked to him, seeing his face filled with both anger and confusion. "Prove to me that you are who you say you are. Prove to me that you're my best friend! Prove that you're the mother of my niece! Prove it! Go ahead, we're all waiting!"
"Stark that's enough." I finally spoke, stepping closer.
"No." Aidan hissed, walking quickly to Tony. She stood a few inches from him, glaring into his eyes. She said nothing as she pulled Tony into her arms, holding him close to her.
"You'll never remember things as the way they used to be. But just look, pay close attention and you'll see me. You'll see your friend, your niece's mother, your teammate, your....your fellow Avenger. Please Tony, please just calm down and see it all for yourself. I know it's hard and confusing, seeing these things and wanting to prove that they're the truth. But I can't do that. I can't go back in time. All I can do is stay here and make things right again. I just need you to trust me, Tones."
Tony's breathing slowed as he relaxed in Aidan's embrace and eventually began to return the gesture. "Why did you leave? Why can't I remember?"
"Breean was hurt, as was Bucky. The only way to save them was for me to go. But there's always a price." Aidan explained, finally letting her tears fall. "It was the only way. I'm so sorry, Tony."
"I always felt like something was off. Like there was a missing piece to the picture." Tony spoke softly into Aidan's shoulder. "For almost seven years I've tried to figure out what was different but I couldn't."
"A-
"Uh...is it safe for me to ask what's going on?" Everyone turned their heads to the small voice. Breean stood at the doors of the building, glancing between everyone in confusion.
"How long have you been standing there?" I questioned nervously.
"Long enough to ask Tony who his other niece is and why he's hugging the fire lady like he hasn't seen her in years." Breean replied smartly.
Aidan and Tony quickly pulled away from one another, clearing their throats.
"They're just having a heart to heart." I chuckled.
"You're the girl that Peter likes, aren't you?" Mj asked, walking away from Lamar and towards Breean. "He's told me a lot about you."
"What?" Breean and I spoke in unison, arching a brow.
"How about we take this inside." Lamar said, punching Mj in the shoulder. "And ignore everything that comes out of this one's mouth."
"I'm not just going to sit here and ignore what she just said." I stepped closer to Lamar. "Not when it involves a grown man and my daughter."
"Dad, don't." Breean warned.
"Excuse me?" I glared over to Breean.
"Just leave it alone." Breean stared at me sadly. "Please."
I sighed and nodded. "Let's just go inside."
