I exhaled loudly, watching myself in the mirror as Gamora adjusted a small braid in my hair. It had grown to my shoulders in the past months, just enough for small braids here and there without a mess.
"What's the matter?" Gamora asked, not taking her eyes off of my hair.
"Nervous." I replied dryly, looking myself up and down.
Gamora stopped, stepping in front of me and looking me in the eyes. "In all the time I've known you, you have never given me a one word response. Now what's the matter?"
I sighed, looking down at my hands. "I don't want this to ruin anything. I know once you get married it changes the entire relationship to something else. I...I don't want a piece of paper to ruin what me and Loki have."
"Aidan." I looked up, my vision blurry from held in tears. "Marriage is a lot, yes, but it's not going to ruin anything. You and Loki have been going strong for years! I don't think marriage is going to tear that apart. I don't think anything can, really. So you go out there and marry the man you love, and don't be afraid. I mean look who you have out there. The Avengers and The Guardians."
I smiled and nodded. "You're right. How much time is there left?"
"If we head down there now we'll be right on time."
I nodded, following Gamora down a long hallway and towards the main room for the ceremony. I sighed, stopping to the side of the double doors. "I can do this. It's just Loki. My Loki."
Gamora smiled, rubbing my shoulder before opening the doors and stepping into the room. I followed suit, slowly walking down the aisle with Bucky on my right arm. Loki turned around and gasped, taking in my appearance. I smiled, nodding to Bucky as he let go and stood by Loki. Loki smiled, lifting the veil from my face.
"You look..." Loki paused and sniffled, wiping away a tear from his cheek. "You look magnificent. No, there's no word to describe you right now."
Steve leaned forward, whispering to the both of us. "Would you guys like me to marry you or not?"
We chuckled and nodded, holding each other's hands.
"Alright." Steve cleared his throat. "Let's get this started."
∆
"Aidan, you may speak your vows."
I nodded nervously, clearing my throat. "Loki, you know that I'm not good with words so I'm sorry if this comes out wrong....I love you. Three words, eight letters and a whole lot of meaning. For me, those three words were never said up until I met you. No one had ever told me they loved me, whether they showed it or just flat out said it. So, when I told you that I loved you for the first time I was so scared. Scared to the point I had convinced myself that you would leave me if I told you. But now I know better. I know that you will always be by my side and I for you. We will always be that sexy villainous duo. And yes, this is more of a speech than actual vows but when have I ever been one to follow all of the rules?"
Loki chuckled, as did everyone else. He grinned ear to ear as he began his vows.
"I'll have to admit, that was much better than what I have. Much like all of my other long speeches to you, I'm winging it. And yes, I mean your funeral. Anyways...Aidan, I vow to always be by your side through any hardships, trials or...family issues."
I laughed, squeezing Loki's hands in my own.
"I vow to keep any promise I make, to always tell you what's on my mind and to never let you or our little girl down. I vow to be the best provider I can be to both you and Breean, to fight and protect you, and to always make sure that you're both happy and content. I love you both so much and I will never stop until the day I breathe my final breath."
