"So are you and Loki a thing?" Bucky asked, dodging my hit and swinging back at me. I furrowed my brows, grabbing Bucky's wrist and pushing him away from me.
"Is this really a conversation you want to have right now?" I grunted as I landed on the ground, Bucky having kicked my legs out from underneath me. I flipped onto my stomach and pushed myself onto my feet, immediately kicking Bucky in the stomach. He groaned, landing on his back.
My calm had long disappeared over a week ago, marking over a month since I was brought to the compound.
"Well, you two have been close here lately." Bucky sighed as I helped him up from the floor. "Real touchy."
I rolled my eyes, wiping the sweat from my brow. "So what? Doesn't mean we're anything more than friends."
Bucky huffed. "Friends aren't as touchy as you two."
"How exactly are we "touchy?" I asked, stepping into the elevator.
"You're always making some kind of contact with each other. Whether it's sitting really close or just blatantly holding hands." Bucky explained, following me into the kitchen. I chuckled, sitting at the island and resting my head on the cool counter top.
"He's cold and I'm warm. We contrast and make each other comfortable." I yawned, resting my elbow on the counter and holding my head in my palm. "Are we not allowed to do that without being more than friends?"
Bucky shrugged. "It just seems like more than friendly touching is all. I mean if I'm wrong then that's fine but to me that's just what it looks like."
I nodded and yawned. "Where is Loki anyways?"
"I think he went to go pick up Bree from school."
"I need some tea." I groaned, letting go of my head and smacking it on the counter. "Ow."
Bucky laughed, leaning against the counter. He held his stomach as he laughed harder, eventually letting go of the counter and falling onto the floor. It was my turn to laugh as I stood to help Bucky up. I failed, weakly pulling on Bucky's arm and falling on top of him. We both sighed, dying down from our laughter.
"So you and Loki aren't anything more?" Bucky asked in a whisper.
I shook my head. "I already told you we weren't."
Bucky nodded. "Good, because I want to do this."
"Do wha-" Bucky cut off my words, pressing his lips to my own. I gasped and pushed myself away from him. "Bucky what the hell?!"
I stood, as did Bucky.
"What do you mean "what the hell?"
"Why did you do that?" I backed away towards the door.
Bucky said nothing as he stared at the doorway, fear striking in his eyes. I looked as well, blushing at the sight of a furious Loki standing in the doorway of the kitchen. I looked up to Loki, wiping my lips with my sleeve and stepping closer to him. Loki looked at me and said nothing as he gripped my wrist and pulled me out of the room.
"Loki, I-"
"Don't."
I froze, realizing that Loki had led me all the way to our penthouse. We stood at the end of Loki's bed, the door shut and not a sound emanated from the room.
"Loki..." I whispered. "I didn't want to kiss him."
"I know. I saw what happened." Loki sighed, moving a piece of hair out of my face. It hadn't grown much in the last month, less than an inch. "I also know that he only did it because we aren't anything more than friends."
"Mischief." I backed away. "I don't want to ruin everything. Not after only a month. I'm not even close to anyone else yet."
"I don't care about them." Loki chuckled weakly. "I only want you."
"And I want everyone to finally be happy!" I raised my voice slightly, clenching my hands into fists. "I care about everyone and I want what's best. Yes, I love you so goddamn much and I want nothing more than to be together again. But I have to think about everyone for once. I can't be selfish anymore."
Loki nodded sadly, shifting his gaze to his feet. "If you don't want me that's all you have to say."
I scoffed. "I do want you. But I can't ruin everything again. This is my second chance and I can't fuck it up."
Loki said nothing, still staring at his feet.
I stepped closer to him, holding his cheek in my palm. "But until then I have no problem with making you happy. I'll do anything."
Loki smirked. "Sleep with me."
"Pardon?" I huffed.
"Will you sleep in the bed with me tonight?" Loki asked with a chuckle, leaning into my touch.
I giggled, rubbing Loki's cheekbone with my thumb. "Of course I will, Mischief."
