"Wow that's amazing!" Jess called. The dragon stood back up and moved towards Jess. She sniffed Jess hands and looked back at me. Her eyes shined like sapphires in the light.

"It's ok she's my friend," I reassured the dragon.

"We have to name her," Jess suggested. I shrugged.

"Ok but what?" I asked. Jess stared at the dragon for a while.

"I've got it! Let's name her Charlotte," Jess suggested. I smiled.

"That's perfect!" I replied. Jess put her hands on her hips and smiled at me proudly. Charlotte was running around chasing a butterfly. We giggled.

"Charlotte come," Jess commanded. Charlotte bounced towards us with the butterfly in her mouth.

"What are we going to do with her?" I asked. Jess turned to me.

"What are we going to do? We are going to do something I have always wanted to do!" Jess called. She pushed me towards Charlotte. I stared at Jess. She pointed to Charlotte's back.

"Wait are you serious?" I asked.

"Very! Now get on!" Jess demanded. I sighed and slowly hopped onto Charlotte's back. I lifted Jess on behind me. Charlotte waited for us until we were ready. She opened her wings and took off. The wind flew past my ears. The only thing I could hear was the beat of my heart and the flapping of Charlotte's red wings. The sun warmed my cold face once again and the clouds dampened my clothes. We could see the school but the students looked smaller than ants. I could just hear Jess laughing behind me. "This is amazing!" Jess yelled with her short, brown hair flowing behind her. I laughed with her. I wished I could fly up here with Charlotte all the time but I knew it would have to end. Charlotte let out a loud cry but of joy. "She must have been so lonely on her own and she looks fairly young," I thought.
