Please Don't Forget Me...
Chapter 2

"Woah woah woah Sammy are you okay?"
Daniel asked, running into the bathroom.
I started coughing as the wave of nausea faded away. "Yeah—" I spluttered, wiping away a chunk of last nights vegetable lasagna from the side of my mouth. "I'm alright."
"Here let me get you some water."
He said quickly, exiting the bathroom.
"Wait!" I yelled. "Is Jack home?"
"No, him and the rest of the guys went out to get food, I'm not particularly hungry so I'm here. Good thing too, I need to look after you." His voice trailed off as I heard his feet lift on and off the stairs. I now had less than a minute to figure out how and if I was going to tell Daniel about my pregnancy. He was my best friend, apart from Jack. I could tell him anything, and I knew he was extremely trustworthy. Slowly rising from my knees, I used the bathroom sink to steady myself.
I stared at the figure reflected back at me in the mirror. My eyes were puffy and red, I could see a few stress pimples developing underneath my skin. My face was shiny from all the sweat that automatically came with vomiting, and my lips were trembling and dry. The cold water from the sink soothed my hot skin, as I cupped my hands and filled them with water, splashing it all over my face. My mascara was smudged but I didn't care. The footsteps retuned and soon enough, Daniel was at my side, a glass of water in his hand. "Hopefully this makes you feel better." He said, brushing a piece of hair back from my mouth. I took the glass from his hand and raised it to my mouth. The cool water rehydrated my throat, and I could talk properly. "Thanks" I whispered.
"How was the doctors?" Daniel asked.
"Umm, alright I guess."
"You guess?" He questioned.
"What's that?" He asked, bending down and picking up my yellow folder from off the floor next to the toilet. Before he could open it, I snatched it out of his hands. "Nothing!" I yelled, holding the folder to my chest. Daniel stared into my eyes. "Sammy, what's going on?" He asked, his voice low.
"It's nothing, don't worry about it."
I began walking out of the bathroom but I got slowly pulled back. "It's obviously not nothing, I need to know if you're okay." He said, his face relaxed. In my mind, I kept contemplating weather or not I should tell him everything, or make up some insane excuse that would leave him even more worried. I thought it would be best to tell him the truth and beg him not to say anything to Jack, or anyone in that case.
I let out a massive sigh. "Fine, fine, I'll tell you, but you might want to sit down." I said, giving up. We walked out of the bathroom and into our bedroom. I sat down on my bed first, Daniel followed. We sat facing each other with our legs crossed, the folder in my hands.
"Okay." I sighed. "Now, before I tell you anything, you have to promise me that you won't tell a single soul about this.
"I promise." Daniel said with a smile.
"I'm serious, you can't tell anyone, not even Jack." Daniels face kind of fell, he knew I was serious and that this wasn't just gossip.
"Okay, I promise, I won't tell anyone, not even Jack." He said, raising his hand to the side of his head. I nodded my head slowly and took a breath, wondering where I should begin.
My mind was going through everything that had happened in the past month, and I ended up at the night where the baby was conceived. I remember that it was the day before we had to leave for Milwaukee, the show had ended, and Jack and I weren't as tired as we thought we would be. The rest is history. 'Here goes nothing.' I thought. I cleared my throat before speaking. "Do you remember the Nashville show?" I asked Daniel, straight up. "Uhh, yeah I think so." He said, staring up at the ceiling, trying to remember. "Wasn't that when Aspen apologised to you?" He asked. "Oh yeah, that's it. Well you see, that night, once Jack and I went up to our room, things got— heated."
I already hated how this sounded, it was so difficult and awkward to say. "Oh." He said, confused. "Ohhh" He said again, this time he understood what I meant. "Yeah, well I was sure that we were careful, but I guess, it broke or something, to be fair, it was 6 years old, and now—" I opened the yellow folder and pulled out the ultrasound pictures. "I'm pregnant."
Daniels jaw dropped as his eyes scanned over every little detail, on every single picture.
The room was silent for what seemed like forever, and I just blankly stared at Daniels face, waiting for him to say something.
"Well?" I asked. "This is bad, isn't it."
"No." Daniel whispered. "This is great!" He said, his voice getting higher. "I'm going to be an Uncle! I love it already, can I buy it some cute little outfits, and shoes— oh my god, MINI CHECKERED VANS, THIS IS AMAZING!"
I laughed as Daniel lightly bounced up and down on the bed, making my body move in all different directions. "Calm down, I'm only 3 weeks along, I could potentially loose the baby you know?" "That would be horrible!" He said, gasping. "Would it? Would it really be that bad? I mean, this is my life we're talking about. If I have this baby, everything is over for me. I'll be known as the teenage Mum that ruined her career before it even got started."
"Hey, don't think like that, this is the start of a new life, not just for you and this baby, for Jack as well." I broke eye contact with Daniel, and stared down at my hands. I could feel his eyes on me. "You haven't told him yet, have you?" He asked, his voice once again low.
"No—" I began.
"And I don't think I ever will."...
