I don't know what is more insane , me being trapped in the trees literally twenty five feet off the ground or A guy who thinks he can take on twenty freaking eight skilled assassins.

It is unnerving to watch as Prince Ruslan  stands alone fighting  so many  assassins .

They are ruthless and it makes my heart jump into my throat every time one of them swings their sword at him .Now that I know how full of demonic powers a Djinns sword can be I can't help but think of all sorts of morbid and horrible ways the battle might end for the prince .

While , All the time I would remain stuck on a tree. How stupid !

" Let me go !" I yell at the tree but it's leafy embrace only tightens around me.

I try to fight my way out but it's no use and in the end I resign to watch the fight that proceeds on the ground below me.

The assassins are skilled and they have the advantage of numbers  but  the Prince manages to deflect their attacks and soon  I realize  he is not just using his sword to fight them off but his ability to use nature as well.

The assassins too use their abilities but the Prince is swift and efficient as sometimes he shoves down boulders their way or summons strong winds to raise sand and blind himself to their eyes or  sends many of  them  screaming   against the tree trunks and their  knocked out bodies fall down on the ground with thuds .

Those who manage to get close to him amidst his self created storm only meet the end of his varied weapons as depending upon the range and abilities  of his enemies he keeps changing his weapons in a blinding blur.Sometimes it's spear ,a crossbow  or the good old sword.

He is quick to dispose of the lot of them until only one of them remains standing amidst the pool of knocked out limp bodies.

A blue skinned  Djinn with the built of a mountain and holding massive twin battle axes in each of his hand.
the Prince and him lock eyes each one sizing the other up as weapons drawn they begin circling each other.

Each step calculative and ready to unleash violence.

Keeping his eyes trained on the Prince the  assassin smirks  " Nice running into you,  Prince Ruslan one of my people wanted to send greetings to you "
His smirk grows into a  triumphant sneer
" Remember Salàam ? The last time he saw you you were raging mad over the death of -----"

Even before the Djinn could entirely finish the Prince leaps at him with a roar and the next moment the giant Djinn is lying  face down  and motionless at his feet.

The Prince's chest his heaving and his entire body trembles not with exhaustion but with rage.

For the first time in his violet eyes I see thirst for  murder and it shocks me.  Clenching his jaw and with visible herculean effort he shoves his lethal sword back into its scabbard and slowly the roots of trees from the soil  at his command  drag the body of the unconsciousness Djinn into the ground.

As soon as the last threat to me disappears the tree loosens it's embrace around me and I hurriedly jump down towards the ground.

Only when I feel the air rushing up to me do I realize how reckless my descent had been.

I've jumped off twenty five feet off the ground !

I'm gonna crack my skull open and  break all my bones !

Before my terrified throat can let out a blood cuddling scream I suddenly feel the motion of my body stop.

I slowly open my eyes not even realizing that sometime during my mindless descent I had squeezed them shut.

" You are safe now " says the Prince  holding  me in his arms.

I'm secure  as he holds me bridal style, a part of brain says now that  I'm back on the ground I should probably stand on my feet but I remain as I am with  my heart fluttering in my chest like a caged butterfly  .

Those violent eyes have a way of making my heart misbehave this way  Irrespective of whatever situation I may be in  .

" Are you alright ?" I question him gently .

I do not see the murderous glint in his eyes anymore and though he has schooled his handsome  face to the unreadable way it always  is I can't help but notice that he still seems perturbed.

For a long moment he remains silent and just when I'm beginning to think he would brush it off saying nothing he speaks "  I'm not alright but I will be soon"

His admission  makes me smile because however small it is sign that he has begun trusting me . His few words are not a giant leap of trust by any extent , but it is a beginning .

I'm still smiling as he carefully places me back on my feet .

The ground is obviously clean again now devoid of the assassins and though  belatedly   but  indignantly I  remember  the way I had been sent up the trees ." What you did was very unfair?" I say  planting my hands on my hips " You should have let me stay on the ground and fight them off "

" I admire your courage"The Prince says " But you couldn't have fought them just by using a sword"

"May be not all of them" I admit with a frown
" But the ones I couldn't finish with my sword you could have taken care of them " I say feeling particularly stubborn " You never gave me the chance " I don't attempt to hide  the disappointment.

" Are you saying me you need a chance to prove your skills ?"

" Yes " I reply instantly .
The last time  the Landga almost got to me because I wasn't aware that its companions would follow it soon but this time I will not let any thing defeat me.

The Prince seems to ponder over my words for a second" I will choose your next task "

" Sure "  I say confidently clenching my sword " I can fight  whatever you  name"

He  looks at me  me calm as ever as he says
" You will fight the Jahar"
