Chapter 51

' I can't '
I sob as her constant pleas to kill her and the sounds of whip striking against flesh fill my ears .

' Please , Amelia you told me you would save me '

' And I will ' I swear ' I can do anything but this '

' You have to ' She says back her voice quivering with unshed tears as she recounts the ways in which she had been used and abused ever since she had been abducted .' There is nothing of me left any more that they haven't tainted ' She sobs
' My soul , my body , my blood....nothing '

The terrible revelation punches the air out my lungs. I see black dots dancing in my vision and my body unsteadily sways under the enormous sadness and horror of what she had been through ,
' I'm so sorry. I....I didn't know '

All the while that she had been suffering these horrors I had been growing up in the sheltered care of my mother in the mortal realm and then protected in the Djinn realm . All this while my sister had been suffering mentally , emotionally and physically .

' I have no desire left in me to live anymore ' their is steel in voice again ' Prince Ruslan wouldn't harm me as long as Salaäm possess my body '

I weep listening to the continuous sickening sound of whip against flesh.

' The Prince cares deeply for you Amelia he would never kill me ' She speaks ' He can't bear the thought of hurting you like this. You have to kill me to save both of us '

My sobs are the only reply I can give as I fall on all my fours ,my body trembling and torrents of tears running down my face.

From somewhere near Ayelet speaks "Ah ! Such a pathetic sight you make half breed but then again your kind have always been this way , neither djinn nor human but just an abomination "

' Please help me ' I hear Amy pleading in my head 'Please, I beg you '

' I can't kill you '

' You have to! ' Her voice is full of anguish ' If you ever loved me sister , if you have ever missed me.....'

" You know " The whip drops as Amy turns around and moves towards me. The cruel face that looks at me though belongs to my twin I know is not her
" The little demon , Khsjc we sent in the fort told us about your silly feelings for Ruslan " She chuckles "What a smart demon he was ! He brought us all the information we needed but you know what we would have been done to him after he was done being useful to us ? "

Gripping fistful of my hair she painfully yanks my head up " We would have killed him too because he was extremely annoying "

Being like this...low and and on all my fours to the floor I have a clear view of her pale neck .

'Now! ' Amy screams

Quick as lighting I grab my sword that had been laying discarded on the ground and swiftly jab it right into her neck .The blade passes through one side of the neck and comes out through the other side .

Brown eyes widen as blood starts pooling out of her mouth . I stare at my sister transfixed , shocked and sobbing all at the same time.

' Thank you ' I hear a fading but relieved whisper in my head 'My dearest sister '

The body topples down as a huge dark cloud begins emerging out her parted lips .

" Amelia !"

I rush towards the Prince and with all my strength strike against the cursed chains binding him .

The entire tree and the ground underneath it shudders as a high pitched scream fills the sky turning the skies itself dark .

The absolute darkness that descends all around us has a deceptively silent quality to it . A smothering kind of silence that sucks away any sign life.

" Prince Ruslan " I call out looking around in the darkness . I can't let him suffer more " Prince Rus---"

I stiffen when I hear a loud hiss behind me .
Instantly whirling around I find myself looking into a pair of huge reptilian eyes.

" Ayelet " I scream as the giant snake dives towards me. The enormous coils of its body barely visible in the darkness.

I know she has the ability to transform into a giant snake . The Private library that had belonged to my grandmother consisted of no books , except one.

A book from the grandmother who could see the future of her granddaughter.
The only book in all the worlds that has all the secrets of my kind. But aside from the knowledge of powers and skills my kind posses it also has every little detail about the limitations of black magic users.

" You cannot summon any familiars " I scream as the snake rears and strikes at me but I swiftly roll away from her enormous head
" Your magic enables you to take their form by killing and drinking their blood "

" Yessss I'm alone but itssss more than enough to kill you " She hisses her enormous tail lashing out from the darkness and throwing me flat on the ground.
" It'sss time to die you filthy half breed" lying on my back I see her jaw unhinge itself as it grows wider and wider to devour my body. Supressing my instinctive fear at such chilling sight I quickly slit my palm open. My blood starts dripping down freely as I yell
' Ejâ sahin'

Loud piercing cries suddenly fill the air as great flocks of grey coloured birds swoop down from the skies and dive towards the head of the giant snake. Ayelet goes berserk and starts thrashing as they claw out her eyes. I roll away from the giant snake least I get crushed.

" You insolent filth " She screeches twin trails of dark blood running down her eye sockets and a great shudder passes over her as her body starts folding into itself .

" I believe in numbers " I mock her as once again she transforms into a woman clad in crimson gown , but this time she's blind.

I was beginning to think she is much less of a threat now that she is blind but the cold smile that creeps over her face like a dark skittering spider stops me short
" You think I rely only on my eyes" She says the smile growing on her face like the cresting wave of a violet storm before it destroys everything in its path
" You are in for a great surprise half breed "
