CHAPTER 9: I'm Gonna Have Some Fun

When I woke up the next morning, I rolled over in bed and reached over hoping that I would feel Jon still beside me but as I reached over next to me, I didn't feel him next to me, it was empty. 

I opened my eyes in hopes that maybe he was getting dressed or in the shower even but he wasn't. 

I sat up in bed, covering my nude body and began thinking about the few relationships I was in how my exes were never there the next morning after sleeping together the night before and finding out later on that they were cheating on me. 

Shit! "Stop it!" I tell myself out loud. I'm overthinking again. Maybe he was just wanting to hook up with me for the Summer and that's it. 

I get up and get ready for the day and put the thought out of my mind as I head into the kitchen and decide to head towards a cafe that happens to be right down the street from our place and grab some coffee and breakfast by myself since Payton left me a text saying that her and Joseph went out for a little while and would be back later so that Jon and I could have the place to ourselves. At least she left me the car keys. So I grab them and make my way towards the cafe. 

After parking a few spots down from the cafe, I got out and headed inside where it looked to be barely anyone in there.

It was one of those places where you could seat yourself and a waitress or waiter would be with you. Which it didn't take too long for one to come over and take my order. 

I sat there alone thinking about what I wanted to do today since Jon wasn't answering my text and everyone else was off doing something.

So after breakfast, I walked outside and started walking up and down the small shops that were here and didn't find anything really that interested me too much so I headed back to the house. 

Payton was still gone and all the guys next door were gone as well so I couldn't ask neither one of them where Jon was at or if they wanted to hang out. So I decided to just put on my swimsuit and head out into the pool we have here. 

I went back and forth between swimming and laying out in the sun until I hear Payton. 

"There you are." I hear Payton say as she walks out to me. 

"Where else would I be?" I chuckle. 

"I don't know. I thought maybe you and Jon would be out doing something or doing something in here." She winks at me and moves her eyebrows up and down. 

"Yeah, I don't think you'll have to worry about that." I chuckle. 

"What do you mean? What the hell did he do?" She immediately got defensive. 

"Nothing. We had a good time and that's all. Nothing more. It was just a Summer fling anyways." I try and laugh it off to hide the hurt I was really feeling. Which I didn't even know why I felt like that seeing as to how I barely know him really. 

"Don't give me that bullshit, we all know that you and Jon have more than just that going on between you guys." She says. 

"Just please drop it. He hasn't texted me back and I'm not texting him again. Plus he wasn't there this morning when I woke up. So what do you think is going to happen?" I ask her wanting her to drop it. 

"Maybe he has a good reason." She says. 

"Maybe. But I'm not waiting around for him or anything." I tell her as I get up and start heading back into the house as I hear her yell out behind me.

"Good for you!" She yells out while following me inside. "Well, then let's go out tonight and have some fun." She says. 

"I don't feel like it." I tell her. 

"Let me rephrase that. Go upstairs and get ready because we are going out. You, me, Joseph and the other guys." She says assertively. 

I look at her for a moment wanting to badly say something but instead realize that I can't tell her no because she'll never stop bugging me about it. Not to mention too that this is a vacation and I need to have some fun and not act like a girl in high school who had a crush and is heartbroken it wasn't anything more. 

"Fine." I smile in reply. 

"Good. I'll meet you down here in an hour and if you aren't ready by then, I will be coming up there and helping you out." She warns. 

"Don't worry, i'll be down here." I laugh. 

"Good, no go upstairs and wash off that sadness and sunscreen." She laughs. 

The moment we got to the club, we all first headed towards the bar to get some drinks and then a song came on that Payton loves, so I told them I'd get the drinks so they could go dance. 

I finally got the attention of the bartender and was about to order drinks, I saw off to the side through the crowd of people, Jon was laughing and talking with some girl. 

I don't know why it hurts a little bit to see him with some girl but it kind of does. But I remind myself that I shouldn't care. I hear the bartender try and get my attention again and I look at him and am about to order until I hear a man's voice ask me if I wanted to dance. Without thinking about it, I tell him 'yes' and he takes my hand as we make our way out onto the dance floor and start dancing together. 

I won't lie, he's not as hot as Jon but he's really cute though and I wrap my arms around his neck as he wraps his around my waist as we move closer to each other and start dancing.
