Emiko's pov

"Hey!!! You bastards, let me go!! Let me go before I rip you all to shreds! This is kidnapping!! You're kidnapping two innocent minors!!! I'll report you guys to the police once I get free from these ropes!!" I shouted, as Kagome and I were dragged somewhere away from the boy who was still sleeping. I didn't understand why they called us demons and why they wanted us to stay away from the boy, whose name I heard was Inuyasha's. It only made me curious as to what his story was and how he was pinned to that tree, there also was that growing curiosity of the arrow that pinned him to that tree. Anyhow, I was not very happy to be tied up like some kind of prisoner. "Please calm down," Kagome begged, but I couldn't keep my anger to a respectable level. We were dragged into a nearby village and thrown in front of an older lady, who must be the village chief or at least the person in charge. She grabbed onto Kagome's chin making me growl, since I didn't know what her intentions were. The woman named Kaede looked at me, then at Kagome, and untied her. She kept me tied up and took us to her hut, I guess she didn't like my bad temper. I was always told by my mother as well as my friends that I had a horrible temper, that usually intimidated others around me or at least scared them.

"Who are ye girls?" She asked.

"My name is Kagome and this is my sister, Emiko. Where are we?" Kaede's eyes widened as she looked at me in shock, making me huff.

"What is it, old hag?" I was way too upset to speak respectfully to her, after all, she did have her people tie us up. "A half demon is ye sister?" My ears twitched, "Who are you calling a demon, old hag?!" I struggled against the binds, causing Kagome to panic as she tried to calm me down.

Kaede stood up to her feet and grabbed something, throwing these weird dark blue beads around my neck. "Kagome, give her a command!" Kagome looked to Kaede at the same time I did.

"Command for what?!! Huh, old hag?!" I shouted, as the beads that were thrown at me had formed a necklace. "Down girl!!" The necklace suddenly glowed, I plopped face first onto the ground with a loud yelp. Once I was calm enough, Kaede let Kagome untie my binds. She knew that I wouldn't do anything else because of the weird beads, currently hanging around my neck. "What is that thing?" Kagome asked, as I struggled to get the necklace off. The thing is, it wouldn't budge at all which was making me even more agitated.

"The beads of subjugation. When you say a command the necklace reacts to the command given. You of course are the only one who can use this command." Kaede explained and then started explaining what had happened fifty years ago. Supposedly, Inuyasha was in love with Kikyo, Kaede's older sister. Kikyo was a priestess, who protected the sacred Shikon Jewel and one day Inuyasha stole the Shikon Jewel from Kikyo, gravely injuring her. In response to his betrayal, Kikyo shot Inuyasha with one of her sacred arrows. Pinning him to the tree, which put him in a deep sleep so that he couldn't hurt anyone else. Apparently, it's been over fifty years since the incident and since Kikyo's death. She gave us some stew and told us that times were hard which is why the village people didn't trust us, they still weren't right for calling me a demon.

"Old Lady Kaede, why did you call me a half demon earlier when Kagome told you I was her sister?" I leaned forward, as I finished my food.

"Ye have the ears of a dog. Meaning that one of your parents was human and the other was a demon. Must be a dog demon at that. Half demons are an outcast among this world. Both humans and demons hate half demons equally. Ye best be careful."

Just as Kaede finished her explanation, my ears picked up screams coming from outside. A young man suddenly burst into the small hut, "Lady Kaede, a demon is attacking the village!" I rushed out of the hut along with Kaede and Kagome only to stop in my tracks. It was the same demon from earlier, the one who pulled Kagome and I down the well. "Damnit, that thing came back! It must still be after us! Kagome, get out of here!" I snatched a bow and arrow from one of the villagers nearby, rushing forward. I shot the demon several times, which got her attention. She started after me, making me drop the bow and arrow.
