Emi's pov
"Impossible!! Inuyasha, let alone Lord Sesshomaru, couldn't budge Tetsusaiga. How could a mere mortal?" I feared at that moment that Kagome was in serious trouble, Sesshomaru looked like the type who wouldn't let anything get in his way, when he wanted something. "Kagome..." I had no idea what the hell to do, but I knew I was going to have to step in and protect her. I was not going to let this handsome, yet sociopathic demon harm my sister. Before I could even get to Kagome, Sesshomaru appeared in front of her. I froze in my spot, looking on in absolute dread. "Huh?!" Kagome looked on and I could see the fear in her eyes, "Just who are you? Why were you able to draw out the sword?" Sesshomaru asked Kagome, "Hey!!! Get away from her!" I shouted, making Sesshomaru look my way. "Stay out of this half-demon, if you want to stay alive." He suggested, turning his head towards Kagome. "I guess he's no longer interested in you and your life's been spared, huh?" Myoga said, making me growl at him. "Fool! Sesshomaru! Leave her alone! She has nothing to do with you!" Inuyasha shouted, "Inuyasha!" Kagome looked to Inuyasha, before turning her attention on Sesshomaru.
"Don't come near me or I'll kill you!" She threatened.
"Neither you nor I could draw out Tetsusaiga. Yet she had no trouble against the barrier. You expect me to let her go?"
"I don't know why the barrier had no effect on her! But she's only a human girl! Kagome! Hand over Tetsusaiga to Sesshomaru!" Inuyasha said, "Kagome, give it to him. You have to let him get the sword." I agreed with Inuyasha, but Kagome didn't agree with this. "No! He couldn't pull out the sword! That means he's not the rightful owner! I WILL NOT give it to him." Kagome argued, pointing to him. I let out a sigh, beginning to get annoyed with her stubbornness.
"Fool! A mortal girl has nothing to do with this! Stop interfering!" Kagome swings and points the sword at Inuyasha, not happy with what she had just said to him. "Stop interfering, you say?!" Kagome finally realizes the gravity of the situation and lifts the sword in front of her in self-defense, but I knew that was not going to stop him from killing her. "Kagome, just give him the damn sword! He'll kill you!" I yelled, making Kagome look over at me. "No way!! He can't even use it!" Kagome argued, "Neither can Inuyasha, this isn't our fight. It's theirs Kagome, we have no right to interfere in their fight. Just give Sesshomaru the sword!" I argued, but she only shook her head as if to say no.
"Humph. Inuyasha... You seem to be very interested in the actions of a human. Why protect her?" Sesshomaru puts a hand behind his ear casually, "Why let her go? Why love her?" He added, I could see where he could have been hinting at a certain person, who used to be the love of Inuyasha's life. "You seem to be interested in her as well, half-demon... Now, I wonder. Why are you so interested in this human?" Sesshomaru asked, looking at me with a stoic look on his face.
"She's my sister."
Sesshomaru says nothing in response and instead runs his hand over his hair and walks slowly towards Inuyasha, "I certainly did not inherit from our father the feelings of compassion towards humans that you have." He said, "It was this feeling for a mortal woman, your mother, this weakness of the heart, that caused Father to end up here like this." Sesshomaru stated he didn't seem too happy about it.
"Tainted blood courses through your body! Is it this blood that endears you to humans? Well, I don't pay any heed to such infinitely vulgar beings." He suddenly turns around, raises his hand, and discharges a torrent of poison fumes at Kagome. I run as fast as I can towards her, but a torrent of poison is thrown at me. I quickly jumped back, sending a glare at Sesshomaru who remained stoic. "Inuyasha! Emi!!" The ribcage above Kagome starts to melt and cover her. "Kagome!!" I shouted. More of the melted ribcage covers Kagome and she eventually falls to the ground, with the Tetsusaiga. "No!! No!! Kagome!! Just hang on!" I took off as fast as my feet could carry me but it was too late as both Kagome and the sword were buried under the bones, Sesshomaru stopped his poison attack. My heart dropped as I stopped in my tracks, I couldn't tell if she was alive. I couldn't hear her heartbeat, nor could I hear her breathing. All I could hear at that moment was white noise, nothing but white noise. Tears pricked my eyes, as I continued to stare at where Kagome was just standing.
