Chapter 28: Inuyasha is human?!!

Emi's pov

On our way here, I had picked up a sword that I could fight with. Though I didn't think it was going to last long against the spiderhead demons, it was enough to keep them back. I fought beside Inuyasha who was slashing at some Spider Heads with a rusty Tetsuiga. It was odd to me that it had not changed to it's usual form whenever Inuyasha weilded it. The spiderheads spew webs at Inuyasha, who waves them away. "Inuyasha!" Kagome called out worriedly, I quickly stabbed one of them and kicked another one into the wall. "Emi, take Kagome and Shippo and leave!" Inuyasha yelled, "Like hell I will!" I responded, I was not going to leave him alone when I knew something was wrong with him. Kagome didn't like the idea either, "But-" She started, "Shut up! I can ward them off alone!" Inuyasha snapped, "No you can't, Inuyasha. Something is obviously wrong with you. I'm not leaving you to fend for yourself when you can't even use Tetsuiga to protect yourself." I argued, making him growl at me in annoyance. "What's with him today?" Shippo asked, looking concerned. "Why isn't Tetsusaiga transforming?" Kagome asked, more Spider Heads surround Inuyasha and spew webs at him. He has a hard time trying to fend them off. He is mostly covered in web, particularly over his head. "Damn!" Shippo attacks some Spider Heads with foxfire as I kicked and slashed at another. The Spider Heads back away from us, "Keep that foxfire going, Shippo! It looks like they're afraid of fire." I immediately grabbed Inuyasha's arm, Kagome grabbing his other one and the two of us dragged him away from the scene. We both have a difficult time as the web on Inuyasha are also stuck on the ground. "Inuyasha!" Kagome cried, "Shit.." I cursed, waving my sword at a demon to keep it back. "Get away!" Shippo burns the web on the ground with foxfire, "Come on, we have to go now!" Our entire group takes off into the forest and stop when we reach a clearing, that's when I finally noticed Inuyasha's smell. I looked at him, tilting my head and sniffed him.

"Hey!" Inuyasha moved back.

"I think we're safe now." Kagome panted.

"Inuyasha... What's wrong?" Kagome asked, reaching for the web on his head. "Shut up!" I growled in irritation at his attitude, he was being so rude. More than usual. And that's saying something considering Inuyasha has had his moments where he wasn't acting like a total jerk. "Something's wrong with you today!" She tugged at the web, Inuyasha pulls away the rest. "You guys had better worry about yourselves first." My eyes widened when Inuyasha's hair had changed color, it wasn't white, it was black. His ears wer gone, and so were his fangs and claws.

"W-what's happening to your hair?" Kagome cried out.

Inuyasha sits under a tree and removes the last bundle of web, "If you think I can protect you as usual, you're wrong!"

"What's this...?"

"Inuyasha...right?"

"Quit staring at me!" Inuyasha snapped, a blush arose on my face as I stared at him. And it seemed Inuyasha noticed it, "Emi, w-" I quickly turned my back to him and sat down beside him, I knew that I would blush again if I looked at Inuyasha. He looked very handsome without the fangs, claws and white hair. He made for a very handsome human. Shippo plops on Inuyasha's head and tugs, "Your dog ears are gone!" I shook my head, cringing at the way Shippo handled Inuyasha's hair. "You look just like a human." This is when I realized that I wasn't the only one to deal with this. "And my fangs and claws are gone, too!" He threw Shippo off of him, "What's going on, Inuyasha?" Kagome asked. "Half-demons like Master Inuyasha and Emi lose their demon power for a period of time." Myoga explained, suddenly appearing on Kagome's shoulder. Where in the hell did he run off to when we were fighting the SpiderHeads? "Because this is a life-threatening period, half-demons never reveal this weakness to anyone. For Master Inuyasha, it turns out that it is this night of the new month when the moon is dark." I sighed, because I had experienced this when I was growing up. "When the moon is dark... The start of the new month when the moon isn't visible? And today is that day." Kagome stated, "Then why hasn't Emi turned human?" Shippo asked. "Because The New Moon isn't the same for me. I usually experienced this kind of thing when there was a full moon." I explained, Inuyasha looked at me in shock. "I.. I was very young when I first experienced it and let's just say, it wasn't easy. Mom kept me home because she was afraid of what could happen to me. She didn't know what to do." I leaned against the tree, crossing my arms.

Myoga hopped on Inuyasha's shoulder, "Master Inuyasha... Why didn't you at least inform me?!"

"If you knew, you'd have run off somewhere by now." Inuyasha explained. "Well... Have you so little faith in me?" Myoga paused and crossed his arms, Inuyasha holds a pointing finger. "I have little faith in this period of time!"

"What about me? If I had known about your weakness, I would never have insisted that we journey into this den of demons! Have you so little faith in me, too?! And in Emi?! She's a half demon just like you as well!" Kagome snapped, I knew she was upset. To be honest, I was upset too but I understood why he didn't tell us about it. "I don't trust anyone!" Inuyasha shouted, he folded his arms and looked away from us. "That's how I've lived until now! You have no right to complain!" Inuyasha argued, he looked genuinely upset. "I'm sorry. But..." I sighed when I saw the tears welling in Kagome's eyes. "I just thought you could open up to me a little..." She started sobbing, making me growl.

"H-hey! Don't cry!" Inuyasha panicked.

"Look at what you did, Inuyasha!! You made her cry!" I smacked Inuyasha harshly on the arm, making him wince in pain. "Hey, I didn't mean to!" Kagome suddenly stops crying and points an accusing finger at Inuyasha, "It's because you're so proud and stubborn that we're in this terrible mess right now! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!" I giggled at Kagome's rant, it was funny but it was eye opening to Inuyasha because he could see how much she cared for him.

"What?!" Inuyasha shouted.

"I can't believe that you're so stupid!" Kagome said. I giggled again, shaking my head as Shippo looked amused. "Wait... Emi, why aren't you mad at him?" She looked at me, "Because I understand how he is feeling. Mom and Grandpa were the only ones to know about my transformation for a long time until you and Sota witnessed it yourselves a couple years ago. I am angry with him for not telling me about it, I can relate him better than you and Shippo can. But it's too late. There's nothing we can do about it now. It's best that we come up with some kind of plan to get rid of those demons." I said, leaning back onto the tree.
