Deciding My Fate

Christmas Special #1

Emi's pov

Kagome and I were spending our first Christmas in the feudal era with Shippo, Miroku, Sango, Kaede and Inuyasha. Mom had packed a bag or two to take with us and a bunch of food, which was amazing. I was excited to spend Christmas in the Feudal Era, I always wondered what Christmas was like back then. "Thanks Mom, you really didn't have to do that, you know." Kagome smiled, "Yeah, Kagome is right. We didn't want you to go through all this trouble for only the two of us." I looked over at Mom, who shook her head and smiled. "My two girls are not going to be home the first week of Christmas, I want you two to be safe. I love you two so much and I want you to have everything you need." Mom pulled Kagome and I into a hug, which we returned. "Plus, I packed you some of your favorite treats." Kagome and I kissed Mom on either side of her cheeks, giving her one last hug.

"You guys promise you're coming back on Christmas Day?" Sota asked, rushing up to the two of us. "Of course, Sota. We wouldn't miss Christmas morning with you for the world." I hugged Sota tightly, kissing him on the top of the head. I then said goodbye to Grandpa, giving him a kiss on the cheek and a large hug. With our goodbyes said, Kagome and I grabbed our bags and headed down the well. When we got out, we were greeted by a huge cascade of snow which had fallen into the well. "Here, give me the bags." Kagome passed me the bags, so I tossed each one up and had them land on the side of the snow covered grass above the well. We got christmas gifts for Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku, Kaede and Shippo.

There are two gifts each, one from each of us. I got Inuyasha a present. Even though we don't get along, Inuyasha deserves presents. He told me a lot about how he grew up being bullied and picked on, it was something that he absolutely hated. So much so that when it happened to me during one of our adventures, Inuyasha defended me and nearly got into a huge fight with the person. I got presents for Shippo, Sango and Miroku as well. Sango was someone I actually admired, she is a hard worker, although, I can tell she's starting fall for Miroku.

"Oh great, the ladder is covered in ice. How am I supposed to get there?" Kagome sighed, "Kagome, I'm standing right here. Climb on my back and I'll get us up there." I waved my hand, making a face at her. "Really?" She questioned, "Kagome, will you just get on my back?!" Kagome laughed, seeing that I got annoyed with her and climbed onto my back. Once she was on, I jumped up high and landed right outside of the well just an inch away from our bags. She got off my back and the two of us grabbed a bag and headed towards Kaede's village.

"I'm surprised, Emi." Kagome started.

"What do you mean? Surprised about what?" I quirked an eyebrow in confusion.

"That you got Inuyasha a gift."

"Why are you so surprised about that?"

"Because you and Inuyasha don't get along very well. I think its nice that you got him a gift for Christmas. Is this your 'Emi' way of getting along with him?" She asked, making choke back a laugh.

"No,"

"Don't lie to me, Emi. You're not good at it."

"Alright fine.... Maybe.."

"Aww, Emi."

"Don't 'Aww, Emi' me. Its just one lousy present." I crossed my arms, "I thought it wouldn't be fair if I got a gift for Kaede and Shippo and not get one for Inuyasha." I huffed.

"It may be one lousy present to you but I'm sure that it would mean something to him." She smiled. "Maybe it could bring you two closer and you two could actually get along and be friends."

"Tch, yeah. Right. Like Inuyasha would want to be friends with me." I shook my head at the thought and walked forward.

The rest of the walk to Kaede's village, Kagome and I started messing with each other and as I was walking, a snowball hit the back of my head. I stopped walking and turned my head towards Kagome, we were actually close to Kaede's hut.
