30: Smaller

"Did you lose your boyfriend again?" Kayla asked as Nico peeked into the Infirmary. The truth was that, yes, he had lost his boyfriend.

"Yeah. I haven't checked either of our cabins yet though, I'll let you know if he's actually lost." Nico explained. He went to the Apollo cabin first; that's where Will was last time, after all. He didn't find Will there.

He did find Will in Hades cabin, though. Unfortunately.

Because Will wasn't alone. He was pinned against a wall, seeming to be sobbing as light appeared and disappeared around him-he was trying to defend himself, his emotions just weren't in the place to do so.

"GET OFF OF HIM!" Nico shouted. He rushed at the person that had him against the wall, throwing her off of him and onto the ground. Shadows already seemed to be surrounding him. Natalie scoffed.

"My job here is done anyway." She stood up, dusted herself off and walked out-Nico would have chased her down if he wasn't busy seeing if Will was okay. Spoiler alert; he wasn't, being a crying mess on the ground.

"Will? Babe, what did she do? Are you okay?" Nico asked, somewhat frantically. Will looked up at him, tears in his eyes.

"Why did you lie?" Will croaked.

And it hit Nico. That's what Natalie meant by saying her job was done-her objective was to bring the memories back, and she did. His heart dropped.

"Will, I didn't mean to hurt you, I was just trying to help, you were so stressed-" Nico attempted to explain quickly, but Will's expression clearly told him that he h,adn't helped.

"Why didn't you say you were gonna do it?"

"I couldn't, it wouldn't work if I did, Will I'm really sorry-"

"They you shouldn't have fucking done it." Will spat. He stood up, wiping his tears away, looking at Nico with such betrayal that Nico just wished he hadn't taken the offer.

"Will, I'm sorry." Nico swore. And he was.

"I'm going to fix my shit and get to work." Will stated dully.

"Wait, Will I want to talk about this." Nico told him.

"And I don't. I honestly feel like I should be calling the shots right now." Will sighed, seeming to compose himself before walking out. Nico didn't go after him. He knew Will didn't want him to.

And for once, Solare seemed significantly smaller than Luna.
