I rolled around in my bed with tears in my eyes. My mom and dad were fighting again, I'm sure that soon enough it'll turn into a fist fight, as always. I sniffled slightly and shivered as I herd glass break. "Hey. Come here." My older brother Dallas said as he wrapped his arms around me, I burried my head into his neck and cried as he began to help me calm down with his routine. Once I was calm I began to speak.  "Dally... you know when they get like this it's only a matter of minutes before they-" The door opened band my dad yelled at us, "Get up you lazy kids and do something with your life's! Grab a mop and a broom and clean up the mess we made. Your mom and I are going out." The door stayed open as my dad walked away, I took a deep breath. "Come on kid... the faster we get it done the faster we can get back to bed." I nodded and watched as Dallas got out of bed and slipped on a shirt. "Kourtney... come on." I nodded and got up.

As we cleaned up our parents mess Dallas kept asking me the same question, "Are you sure your okay?" And ever time I would nod my head and clean faster. Once we were done we crawled back into our shared bed, dally sighed and kissed my head. "Go to sleep kid... I'll stay awake Incase our parents come home." I nodded again and rested my head on Dallas's chest.

I'm kourtney Winston, little sister of Dallas Winston. I'm 18 years old witch leaves Dallas to be 20, for all our life's this has been our routine. It sucks but at least we have a roof over our heads, Dally and I can't afford to live on the streets. Little did we know though that soon things would change for us. Big time.

"Wake up little sis." I opened my eyes and began to stretch. "What dally?" "The gangs going to the diner for breakfast. I was wondering if you'd wanna come." "Really? And meet your friends?" "Why not. It's about time now isn't it?" "Yes! You've only been friends with them for years." He laughed and told me to get dressed.

I wore a blue dress, I brushed my hair and was ready before Dallas. He fixed up his hair and had to tell himself how beautiful he was in the mirror. "Dally. Come on... I can't wait." He laughed and wrapped his arm around me as we headed out. The car ride there, Dally made it very clear that I was not aloud to date any of them and that I had to be respectful to them. He treated me like I was his 6 year old daughter. "I get it dal. No dating them and call them sir... got it." He nodded as we pulled up to the diner.

"Hey guys." "Dal! Hey is this your little sister?" A man wearing a Mikey shirt asked, "Yeah Guys this is Kourtney. Kourtney This is Two-bit, steve, ponyboy, sodapop, And Darry." My breath was almost taken away when I looked at darry. Even though he was sitting I could tell he was tall, his hair was greasy and his shirt was tight, exposing his bulging muscles. "Hey Kourtney." "Hi!" "Hello cutie!" "Nice to meet you." They said one by one, the cute one extended his hand, "Darry. Nice to meet you Kourtney." I took his hand and shook it, "Nice to meet you to Mr." He laughed, "Darry will do just fine." I nodded, Dally made me sit next to Johnny who I'd already met. "Hey Jon." I hugged him and he hugged me back. "So Johnny got to hang with your sis and we didn't?" The one with the Mikey shirt said. I think he's names Two-bit. "Jon's like a brother to Dally and me so duh." The group laughed and gave two-bit shit about his satment. The whole breakfast everyone was laughing and telling jokes from across the table, but Darry and me carried a civil conversation about hobbies and what we like. We laughed and blushed the whole time, no one seemed to notice it and I'm glad they didn't, Darry and I had Great time and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't already falling for him. "Hey old man you got this check right?" Steve said and handed Darry the check, "I'm not that old." He grabbed the check and threw some Cash from his wallet onto it. "How old are you?" I asked, "22." He stated my eyes widened and he blushed and looked at the ground. "Oh." I said sadly, he looked up with hope, "You?" "18." He smiled.

For the next month I hung out with the gang every second of every day, it's been the best time of my life. I've grown pretty close to sodapop, he's a real catch. He's kinda like my best friend I guess, Steve's not bad ether and I like to watch Mikey mouse with Two-bit. Ponybody, jon and me really like to hang out together and read with the comfort of having eachother close by. Darry? Darry and I haven't hung out as much, he's always working, but when he's not we laugh and talk just like we did at the diner. It's been perfect.
