"Jane, where is Tree?" (LINDA, DONT KILL ME.)
"Umm..."she looked down at her quilt that she was sowing, but placed it aside,"She went to the market in town."
James but his tongue ferociously until he tasted blood."To mess with the Shadow Soldiers, I presume?"
The servant, Garvid, sighed,"I can't get her head together, no matter how hard I try. She's a ticking time bomb that wil explode unless she moves."
James places his hands on his face."Someday we'll have to tell Tree. Someday."
---The man placed the burning stamp into the wood. The market was now our of the Shadow Lord's. People watched from afar.
"From now on, this market belongs to the Shadow Lord!"a soldier shouted."No one many pass in unless he says so!"
"Please!"a young girl runs up."Please let me have one last piece of bread! I'm starving!"
"Get out of the way, weakling!"the guard growls.
"Please!"
The guard raises his sword towards the girl. She shrinks down in fear and closes her eyes. I knew this was my time to act.
I threw a rock at his sword. He looked up at me."Hey, kid!"
I jumped down from the ruined wall. The guard motioned for the others around him. I looked back and began to run down the alleys. They chased me, but I was a faster runner. Dust flew up around me.
I turned a corner only to see a dead end. The guards were getting closer. I backed up against the wall.
Suddenly, a rope was lowered before me. I looked up. It was looped in from one of the walls. I slowly began climbing it.
Right as my foot slipped through, I heard,"Where did the girl go?"
"Not, sure, but we have to get back!"
There footsteps sounded until they faded into the mid-day air. I turned and ran back home.
