After Lisa had her Doctor's appointment she set out to find Yugi. The problem was the entire city was a battle ground. Thanks to Kaiba's duel disks, people could duel any time and any where. Unlike duelist Kingdom, she didn't have access to where the duels were. She went to Domino square to see if Yugi was there, but he wasn't.
She saw a few people gathered around a man standing on a bench in a weird position. Then as Lisa walked up the man moved. He had the symbol that was on her and Yugi's puzzles on his forehead. All of a sudden, He put on a duel disk from his bag and started running. Lisa knew he was after Yugi so she fallowed him.

The man jumped off a small bridge and when Lisa looked down see saw Yugi. She went simply went down the hill. "Yugi" Lisa said. "Lisa, stay back!" Yugi said. It turned out the man was a mind slave to someone named Marik. He wanted to kill the pharaoh because he thought he killed his father and made his family suffer for 5,000 years. Yugi turned into Yami and the duel started. Yugi was doing well until the mind slave used revival jem. Lisa hated that card. She tried to warn Yugi that it couldn't be destroyed in battle but she was too late, Yugi attacked it. 

The man played jem breeding machine which gave him jem tokens every turn. Yugi tried to destroy those tokens but the mind save used a trap called jem defender. After three turns there were three token on the field. The mind slave sacrificed them to call Scyther the Sky Dragon. Lisa got on her knees. "The second Egyptian god card" Lisa thought. Yugi thought he couldn't beat it. He got down on his knees and started to freak. Kaiba came by and told him to get up. Then Yugi figured out how to stop Scyther.

You see, the combination of cards he had made it so he could hold as many cards as he wanted. Scyther's attack points are determined by how many cards are in the players hand. Yugi found a way for the mind slave to run out of cards to play. After Yugi won, Mokuba gave Scyther to Yugi. Kaiba was trying to challenge Yugi when the mind slave said their friends were in danger. Lisa and Yugi ran off. "We've got to find them" Lisa said. Then they ran into two men wearing purple robes.

They challenged Yugi to a duel. Then they played rock paper scissors for several minutes until Kaiba came by and said it will be a tag duel. They agreed. The ally wasn't very big so Lisa went behind Yugi and Kaiba to watch from there.

The duel was over in 2 turns. Kaiba used the exact same strategy he used when he faced Lisa. Yugi freaked out when he saw Obelisk. Kaiba gave Yugi a locator card. As Yugi and Lisa were about to run off, Kaiba stopped Yugi. "Kaiba, my duel with you will have to wait" Yugi said. Kaiba told Mokuba to track Joey's duel disk. Lisa thanked him. Yugi looked really worried as they all started looking. "We will find them" Lisa said. They reached the aquarium and Kaiba said they were in there. Yugi and Lisa ran in but they were already gone.

Yugi decided to call Téa on her cell phone. He got in the photo booth. Lisa waited outside of it. The next thing Lisa knew Yugi was calling Téa name over and over again. Yugi came out and said they were too late. Lisa hugged Yugi. "We will find them and rescue them" Lisa said. Kaiba said they couldn't find Joey's signal. They walked down a street when a man on a purple robe came down form a roof. They had kidnapped Mokuba and challenged Yugi and Kaiba to a duel atop a roof. They had no choice but to go.

"Lisa, you do everything you can to find them." Yugi said. Lisa agreed and she ran off to search for clues. She ran into Mai and Lisa told her that Joey was missing. They started looking around in her car and they almost hit Duke and a girl who were crossing the street. "Duke! and... Serenity!" Lisa said shocked. "Lisa we are being chased." Duke yelled. "Hop in" Mai said. They found Tristan and Tristan said that Joey was at Domino Pier.

Mai drove as fast as she could. When they reached the pier there was a duel going on. But it was a strange set up. They got to where the duel was and she found Yugi and Joey fighting. Yugi wasn't dueling as Yami. Yugi had red-eyes black dragon out. Lisa didn't realize Yugi had that card. Turned out Joey was being brain controlled by Marik. Téa had a container over her head and she was fastened to a chair. There was nothing they could do. Yugi found a way to get Joey back. He gave Joey his puzzle and it helped.

Finally Joey broke completely free. "Yugi" he said but Marik already forced him to play a card. Yugi stoped it with a magic card that could redirect it. Yugi told Joey to take care the puzzle and directed the attack towards him. "Yugi" Lisa called out. It hit Yugi and he passed out. Yugi told Joey he only had 30 seconds to free himself. Joey told red eyes to attack him and he did. Joey used the chain to swing to Yugi's side. Then they were both dragged under water by a huge anchor.

Everyone ran up to the water. Serenity had taken off her bandages off her eyes. Tristan tried to get Joey's hand but he missed. "Yugi!!!" Lisa yelled. She got on her knees. A few moments later Yugi surfaced. Tristan got in the water and pulled him out. He wasn't breathing. Lisa started CPR. "Please don't leave me. I can't raise this baby alone" Lisa said as she did the CPR. Yugi coughed as Joey surfaced thanks to Serenity. Yugi hugged Lisa. She was so worried. Joey was freaking out about his mind being taken over.

Mai slapped him and told him his sister took off her bandages thanks to his courage. Joey hugged his sister. They finished watching the sun set and Joey gave Yugi back his puzzle. Yugi put his arm around Lisa who was still crying. "I'm alright now. Thanks to you" Yugi said. Yugi said nothing about what Lisa said. Turned out he didn't hear it. But Lisa thought it was better so she could tell him in a special way.

It was now time to head to the battle city finals. Both Yugi and Joey qualified. They used the locator cards to find the location of the finals. It looked like a Stadium. "So what was it you said about a baby" Mai asked Lisa in her ear. "I'm pregnant and Yugi doesn't know yet. Don't tell him. I want the moment to be special" Lisa said in Mai's ear. She winked and said Lisa secret was safe with her. They were on the way to the way to the finals when everyone saw a poster for a Ninja movie. Joey got excited. Then a limo crashed into a wall. It was the guy from the poster. He was trying to get Mai to marry him. They dueled and Mai won pretty easily. The man then tried to kidnap her. Joey fallowed and Mai was hanging from a post. Joey caught her when she fell. The man realized he was wrong and went on his way. Then they finished headed to the finals. Lisa wondered what would happen during the finals. They would find out when they get there.
