She sat bolt upright when she heard water running in the bathroom. Feeling at first a little disorientated since the room was dark; she remembered where she was. Rubbing her eyes, she stumbled into the bathroom. Opening the door, without knocking, she found Matthew wearing nothing but a towel, surprised to see her. She stood frozen in the doorway. Her eyes drank in the sensuality of his physique. His skin glistening from the water and so dark in contrast to the white towel.

"Need to use the bathroom, huh?"

She cleared her throat, pretending not to be affected. "No, I,um. I'm sorry. I should've knocked".
He smiled. "No harm done. I was just finishin' up but if you walked in a few minutes earlier..." He saw her blush. "How was your nap?" He was combing his hair.

She watched his shoulders and back muscles ripple as he moved. She found her throat had suddenly gone dry and swallowed hard. "Fine. How did you know I fell asleep?"

"I hadn't seen you in awhile, so I came up to check on you. I knocked and since you didn't answer I peeked in and saw you. I figured since you were asleep it was safe to take a shower." He looked her over seductively and smiled. "Are you all right?"

"I'm fine. Why do you ask?"

"I was just wonderin' if you always talk to people in your underwear."

She looked down and turned a vivid scarlet. She quickly shut the door, heard him chuckle and ran into a table, falling down and taking the table with her, making so much noise, one would think she brought the house down. The bathroom door swung open and Matthew was by her side instantly.

"Did you hurt yourself?" He was gently helping her up.

"I'm fine. I just feel stupid." Her hands were on his chest.

He looked down at them and into her eyes. His blue eyes held her brown eyes and darkened with emotion. Putting a large hand to her waist, he drew her form to him. She was powerless to resist. His lips slowly descended to meet hers when a knock came to her door.

He froze and they stared at each other for a moment. Slowly, he withdrew. Damn these interruptions, he thought.

"Skylar, are you all right? We heard a commotion." Bob's voice was filled with concern.

Still looking at Matthew as he was leaving, she answered, "I'm fine, just tripped over the bed."

"I'll see you downstairs," his voice was a little awkward. He winked at her and left.

"Dinner's almost ready, Skylar. Are you coming down?" Bob inquired.

"Yes, I'll be right there." She turned on the light and got dressed. She looked in the mirror and almost scared herself. Her hair was sticking out in different places and some of her makeup smeared while she slept. Cringing inwardly at her reflection, she pushed her hair into a ponytail trying to look human again. She couldn't believe she had a conversation with Matthew, wearing just her underwear and he was wearing a towel. She was surprised that he didn't run out of the bathroom screaming. But he didn't, he almost kissed her, or was it just her imagination? She listened at the bathroom door to make sure he wasn't in there again. She brushed her teeth, washed her face and freshened up.

Dinner was really a barbecue. It consisted of chicken, steaks, hot dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob and potato salad. She walked towards the back of the house looking for Matthew and found him sitting on the bench near the pool talking to a pretty blonde in a bikini she didn't recognize, laughing. Her lips thinned with anger. If the girl leaned any more into him she would be wearing his shorts.

He felt someone staring at him, looked up and saw her. He smiled and waved her over. She gave him a hostile glare and walked away. Forcing herself not to be angry, she grabbed some food and walked into the living room where she found Kyle eating alone.
