"Excuse me?"

"I want to adopt Peter," Tony said, leaning back in his chair. May, Zach, and Gavin all sat in front of him, while Peter was at next to the billionaire at his own mini desk.

"But why? Wouldn't you want to adopt Gavin?" Zach pressed. He didn't really care if Tony Stark took the kid off his hands, but wondered why he wanted such a piece of trash.

Tony scoffed. "I don't even know the kid. Does he work in the penthouse with me everyday? No, Peter does. This boy is like a son to me."

May raised an eyebrow. "But you aren't his real dad. Zach-" she was cut off by Peter's timid voice.

"He's the closest thing to a real dad I'll ever have. At least he doesn't hit me every time I fuck up an experiment or do an equation wrong," he said. May's face turned beet red.

"You have no right to speak to me that way young man!" she scolded, attempting to get up to grab him but she was held down by Zach.

"You know what, sweetheart? Let's let him keep the brat, and when he comes crawling back, begging us to take him in, we'll laugh in his face," he said. Zach turned towards Tony, lifting his hand. "So? Where do I sign?"

Peter sighed happily as he collapsed onto his new bed in his brand new room at Stark Tower, the soft mattress sinking below him. It was an extravagant room in all, and the teen was very impressed and tankful.

The walls were a light grey with a red accent wall, and three huge windows overlooking the city. The bed was king-sized, with red and blue sheets and black pillowcases. A black desk sat in the corner of the room, a Stark Desktop sat atop of it:

Pictures of Peter and the Avengers were hung around the room, and surprisingly, twinkling white lights strung around the windows and bed. (per Peter's request)

Living with Tony was going to change everything. No more cleaning all day, no more adult-like responsibilities, no more beatings, no more sleepless nights. Everything was going to be perfect. And it was.

Every morning Peter woke up to Tony knocking lightly on his door, careful to not spike his heightened senses. The two would eat breakfast together, train, and eat lunch. He began to be homeschooled by Natasha, Clint, and Rhodey, who gave him amazing lessons in all subjects. (Natasha taught languages and English, Clint taught history, and Rhodey taught math and science)

After his lessons, he would train again with Steve, proceed to eat dinner and go out and save the people of Queens. Yeah, it was a pretty fantastic life if you ask me.

Back at the Parker household, May and Zach were becoming restless. It had been over a month and a half and they hadn't heard anything from Peter nor Tony, and they were getting tired of doing chores and working to keep their now-family of three off the streets. How did that boy manage all that himself?

Gavin's grades began to spiral downwards, he quit all the sports teams and he struggled to concentrate on cooking, usually ending in something on fire or uncooked. His popularity nose-dived after people learned that he let his brother get adopted by another family. Like, who does that?

It was exactly one month and eighteen days when the Parkers saw Peter for the first time since leaving the house, and it was on t.v. He  was doing a press conference with the Avengers, talking about how he went from a personal intern to their kid, and how he couldn't be more thrilled to wake up every morning to pranks and fresh pancakes off the stove-top.

May got pissed off, her hands clenched to her sides. She grabbed her phone and dialed Tony's number, who was seen to answer his phone on the screen.

"Hello?" he had said, the sound of his voice coming through the phone and the t.v awkward and echoed. "May, is that you?"

"Give me back my nephew," she spat, staring angrily at the screen. Tony's face twisted into a smirk.

"Actually, May. No can do; you gave him to me, you can't have him back. After all I'm now his legal guardian." And with that, the billionaire hung up, leaving a fuming, pissed off May Parker.
