"Hey honey, long time no see," Kirstie said when she opened the door to her house. I hugged her quietly and after a few moments of our embrace she let go and shut the front door.

She studied my face. "What's wrong Mitch?" She asked as she led me upstairs into her room. I sighed and laid down on her bed. Where should I start? I couldn't tell her about Scott and I. I had to keep it a secret. But I trusted Kirstie, and besides, Scott had told his two roommates about us. One more person couldn't hurt, right?

I took a deep breath and sat up and looked at her. "Kirstie, I'm about to tell you something, and you have to promise that you won't tell anyone," I said seriously. She looked concerned, but nodded in agreement. There was no going back. I was going to tell Kirstie that I was dating Scott, and I had absolutely no idea how she was going to react to it. I could only hope that she wasn't going to cut me off.

"I'm dating Scott," I said, and looked at her face warily. She looked confused.

"Scott?...." She asked.

"Mr. Hoying," I said, and she gasped. I could see that she was trying to process it, trying to make sense of it.

"You're dating a teacher?" She asked, and she didn't sound disgusted or judgemental. Just surprised. I nodded wordlessly. "Well.. okay. You know what, love is love, and I'm happy for you. And you don't think he's taking ad-" I interrupted her.

"No. He's not taking advantage of me. He's not like that Kirstie, surely you know that by now. He's been our teacher for nearly 4 months now, you should know him better than that," I said.

"Well, I haven't been dating him so I can't really say I know him too well," Kirstie said, and I knew she was just trying to lighten the mood. I laughed.

"But for real, I support you two. I think it's cute, you two are an adorable couple," Kirstie said. She squealed. "Oh my gosh do you guys kiss? Have you guys had s-"

I cut her off and put my hand over her mouth. "Shhh! Yes, we kiss, and no, we haven't.. done that yet," I said unhappily.

"What? Why? Is he like one of those people that wants to wait until marriage?" She asked, and I gasped in fake horror. I shook my head.

"No, if he was going to wait until marriage, I would be married by now. No, he just wants to wait at least until I'm 18," I said, rolling my eyes. "And I haven't wanted July to come around as I do now. Honestly, have you seen him? I can't wait to get my hands on him." She waggled her eyebrows suggestively.

"Well, it's only the beginning of June, so it's basically like one more month. Birthday sex?" She asked.

"I hope," I said with a laugh. "But for real, don't mention it around Scott or anything or he'll have a fit. Neither of us are supposed to tell anybody, but he told his roommates, so to me it doesn't seem fair. The names of his roommates are Avi and Kevin, I think," I said. Kirstie furrowed her eyebrows. She quickly took out her phone and clicked a few times.

"Do they look like this?" She asked, showing me a thumbnail of a YouTube video. It was definitely Avi and Kevin, and it was a cover of some sort.

"Yes, that's them," I said, surprised.

"I knew it was Mr. Hoying!" She said excitedly and pumped her fist in the air.

"Help me here, because I have no idea what's going on. What does Scott have to do with this?" I said, and she clicked things on her phone again. She handed it to me, and music started playing. It was Avi and Kevin, and from the knowledge I had in music I instantly knew that Avi was a bass. Kevin was playing a cello and beatboxing, and I was amazed at their skill. A tall man started singing, and when I looked more closely, I recognized Scott. I had to squint to see him because he was wearing a dark hood and I could barely see that it was him, but I knew him. I had explored nearly every inch of his body, and I knew his features and his entire being as if it had been etched into my brain.

"That's Scott. He sings. Why didn't he tell me?" I said, mostly to myself. Kirstie shrugged.

"Maybe he thought you wouldn't care or something I don't know," She said. I wanted to keep watching, but I had to get back home. I stood up.

"Maybe. Look, I have to go, but I'll see you at school tomorrow. Bye Kirst," I said. I kissed her on the cheek and we hugged.

"Bye sweetheart. See you tomorrow," She said, waving as I walked out of her room. I left her house, praying that Jonah wouldn't be home.

The next morning, I got to school early as usual. I waited outside Scott's classroom for him to get here. He told me he usually stopped in the teacher's lounge for some coffee, so I wasn't concerned. I heard footsteps approaching and swiveled around, a bright smile on my face. The smile slid right off when I saw my school principal.

"Good morning Mr. Grassi. Why are you at school so early? Most students wait until the last possible second before entering the school," He said, chuckling.

"Hi Principal Barber. I'm just waiting for Mr. Hoying," I said, and he nodded.

"Alright. I'm proud of the improvements I've heard about you. Keep it up," He said, clasping me on the shoulder. He walked away and I stared after him.

I barely had time to react before I felt someone come up behind me. "Good morning babe," Scott said, wrapping his arm around me from behind. I turned my head and kissed him softly.

"Morning," I said. He gestured toward the door to his classroom.

"Shall we go in?" He asked. I nodded. Right before he could close the door, Kirstie burst in. I looked at her in surprise.

"Hey Kirstie," I said, and she smiled at me. She handed something to Scott, and it looked like an essay of some sort.

"I'm leaving for an appointment right before your class, so here's the essay that's due today," She said. Scott took it gingerly and flipped through it quickly. He nodded approvingly.

"Thank you. You have a nice day," He said.

"I will, thank you. Don't kiss too much you two," She said, and almost immediately she clamped her mouth shut, placing a hand over it. Scott looked up at me slowly, completely bewildered.

I'm sorry this was so bad. My head hurts and I feel like I have a fever right now, but I needed to update.
