Before I post a chapter, I usually go online. To check a few facts and spellings, etc.
When I did that this morning?
I was saddened to come across the news. That a real southern gentleman and fine actor, Scott Wilson....had passed.
Scott always had the distinction of being 'Up there' with Alan Rickman on my list. Whatever part he played or interview he gave, I wouldn't need to see the screen. Only had to hear his beautiful voice to know exactly who it was.
And like Alan, his voice carried his emotions in the roles he played. He never needed actions or expressions to convey the characters' feelings.
Not many actors can master that skill nowadays. And now, there's one less.
Thank you, AMC, for one of the best casting decisions that you ever made. Because Hershel's character would never have been the same without Scott.
Most of all?
Thank you, Scott. For sharing your talent, yourself, and for giving us a Hershel who we all love.
