DARYL
Michonne and me were spotting for Rick, and we moved up to our first door.
When he soundlessly pushed it open, I quickly scanned the room. Held up one finger before standin aside and taking aim down the hallway.
My head swivelled back, in time to see him grimace when his knife slid through the Saviors skull.
The slightest movement caught the corner of my eye. I watched Nate and Jorge leave one room before heading to their next.
Breath hitched in my throat when I glimpsed the knife she had gripped in her hand. It dripped a tiny spot of blood onto her boot.
'Shouldn't be here doing this, no matter how capable she is. It just ain't right....shouldn't ever have to be this way' I lamented sadly, as they both edged out of sight again.
As silent as ghosts.

A couple of minutes later, we inched our way down another long corridor with Rick in the lead. Suddenly, the sound of an alarm ripped its way through the deathly quiet.
"GO!" He screamed after taking out a guy who ran across a walkway above our heads.
His body fell heavily to the ground about ten yards in front of me.
The noise of automatic gunfire surrounded us now. Could barely hear the alarm over it as we raced around the corridors. Takin out Saviors as they tried to shoot us.
One guy slammed into my shoulder and then hightailed it straight through a door, trying to pull it shut behind him. Gripping tight, I wrenched it open. Whipped my rifle around and crushed his skull with the butt.
Over and over again until he was still.
A long volley of shots comes from around the corner. When I sprint towards it, I nearly go ass-over as my feet slide on the blood spray on the floor.
Lifted my rifle to take out the guy who was raising a pistol towards Glenn and Heath....when another gunshot rang out.
"So, this is the next world" Jesus whispered, lowering his own weapon.
We all stood there, taking in the pile of bodies on the ground before us. Remained silent and listened as other muffled gunshots came through. Followed by even more....from outside the building.
Aaron, Sasha, Rosie and Abraham sidled up with weapons at the ready.
There was a rustle and grunt from overhead. Manage to scuttle my ass back just in time before his body hit the ground inches from my feet. Rifle clattering beside him.
When I glared upwards, Nate's face peered over the guardrails. She mouthed a sheepish 'Sorry' to me before climbin over. Jumped, landing lightly on a bank of filing cabinets lining the hall.
Blue reached out, grabbed hold and swung her down until she was standing with the rest of us. Jorge flew around the corner, signing for us to keep looking....searching.

A half-hour later, I threw hands up to shield my eyes.
Stoppin the almighty dawn glare when Rick wrenched up a set of roller doors. Revealing the rear courtyard of the complex, where half a dozen or so vehicles are parked.
We all spread out into formation and did a sweep of this area as well. Weapons were eventually lowered and everyone stilled. Just staring at each other in sheer relief.
