Jeezus, I gotta quit smokin!

Me and Rick tried to get our breath back after bustin a gut runnin after the truck. We've been following some drag marks left in the wake of the vending machine.

We were now standing beside the battered box, which had finally come loose from the truck. Sweatin like pigs and trying hard not to puke from our exertions.

Pull the crowbar out of my pack again and smash the still intact glass. Stashing away as many things as I can including some cans of Pop.

"This was a special request from the Doc"  I explained to Rick when he looked at me curiously.

He sighed back....

"Whatever she wants. She saved Carl's life. We didn't know her, and she turned out to be alright."

"If there are still people out here and they're still actually....people? We should bring them in"  He chugged down half the can of soda I passed over.

"What about this guy?"  I growl sarcastically.

"No! Fuck this guy!"

Start runnin again, following the vague trail left in the leaves covering the road. Soon, we come up on a small rise. Slow down to a stealthy crawl when we heard sounds comin from just over it.

Poked our heads up and snuck a look around, like a couple of meerkats.

Jesus was just finishing up with a tyre change. So, we need to make our move and quick! Crept our way through the woods this time, before splitting up.

"Just hold still and maybe we won't hurt you!"  Rick circled his arms around Jesus from behind.

But the dickwad went and bent over to lay an elbow into his ribs. Flipped him off. Before throwing me hard into the side of the truck when I made my move.

Rick manhandled him to the gravelled shoulder of the road and we both got our weapons on him in a heartbeat.

"This is done!"

"Do you even have any ammo?"  Jesus asked in smiling disbelief, gazing at us like we were a couple of jackasses.

Hearing the growl of a Walker coming out of the tree line behind him, we both raised our guns. Fired before training them back on him again.

"Ok....so now you're gonna shoot me over a truck? I think you both know, that I'm not a bad guy."

"Lotta food in that truck. And what do you know about us? Keys....now!"

We trussed him up like a turkey but with a bit of effort, he'll get free once we're long gone.

"Here....in case yer get thirsty!"

Tossed the last can of soda at him. The rest of them had exploded in my pack when he threw me against the truck.

The lil' shit just smirked then gave an amused shake of his head, as we left him there.

"So long, yer prick!"  I called out, givin him the finger when we drove off.

Both of us have had enough excitement for one day. Maybe it's time to get back to the shed? Grab the car and head home.

Rick and me just looked at each other. Had us a chuckle as he started the engine and I planted my boots on the dash of the truck cab.

I'm getting my spirits back again. Diving into my pack, chowing down and sharing out some candy.
