"Personally I think matcha is better," Hyelin sipping her drink.
"Okay but I beg to differ," Yuta said, "You can't beat the classics like strawberry."
"I guess," She teased.
Yuta chuckled putting his arm around her to pull her closer. It was Saturday and they were enjoying a normal date, just walking around town for a while. Both of them were trying to ignore the fact that this would be one of their last dates for a while if not forever.
"Hey want some pastries?" Yuta asked as they stopped in front of a shop.
Hyelin looked around and nodded. She could go for some macaroons or something. They entered the store and spent quite some money on pastries. They decided to sit outside and eat there.
"So?" Hyelin asked.
He looked at her confused, "What?"
"Are you gonna eat or not?" She said grabbing a pastry.
He smiled and nodded grabbing a macaroon from their plate. Hyelin did the same.
"Pretty good," She said.
Yuta nodded agreeing. As much as they didn't wanna admit it, there was some tension between them. Nobody wanted to speak more than a couple of words but who could blame them. They really were in a sticky situation.
"Man this is so awkward," Hyelin chuckled.
"Shit, am I making this awkward?" Yuta asked.
His eyes grew wide. He looked really surprised by that comment.
"No it's not you babe," She chuckled, "Just in general. Like the atmosphere."
"Oh, okay," He smiled relieved, "Wanna go watch a movie?"
"Can it be a cheesy one so we can make fun of it?" Hyelin asked.
Yuta chuckled, "We can watch whatever you want babe."
On the other side of town Yukhei was frantically entering business after business looking for a place that was hiring. He left resumes left and right. He needed to get this queso. (LMAO I'M SORRY). Especially now that the holiday were coming up. He needed the money. But after going from store to store he found himself at mini-mart looking for a snack to eat. He grabbed himself some chips and a water bottle. He went up to pay.
"Hey you're Hyelin's friend."
He looked up to see the blonde girl that he's seen with Hyelin a couple times. Her name tag read Soyeon.
"Oh hi," He smiled, "Yup that's me."
Soyeon chuckled as she scanned his items, "Oh do you know if Hyelin's doing okay?"
Yukhei's Head perked up, "What do you mean?"
She pressed the register, "It's cause we were group FaceTiming this morning and she seemed really quiet. Like more than usual."
Yukhei thought for a second. This wasn't exactly his business to tell and if Hyelin hasn't said anything maybe he shouldn't either.
"Ah sorry I don't know. I don't really talk to her as much anymore," He pouted.
Which wasn't a total lie, he used to talk to her a lot more but they've been drifting apart since then.
"Oh man. Well I'll talk to her later. You know it's kind of weird not seeing you attached at the hip. You'd always come together to mini-mart," She chuckled, "Oh shit sorry, that'll be three dollars."
Yukhei chuckled handing her the money, "It's cool."
"Between you and me, I thought you guys were dating," She said handing him back two dollars.
