I step into the campus of Duke University. I am doing college visits, actually visit. I only want to go to Duke.

I am here with Nate, he wants to study law here and join one of the best basketball team in the country.

We visited their gymnasium and watch them train. Afterwards, we got invited to the bonfire that they were having tonight.

The boy who invited us was cute, but I have a feeling he's gay. I didn't get his name though.

I put my hands in the pockets of my denim jacket as I walk towards the bonfire place. Nate went off to buy stuffs from the booth.

He's crazy.

"Hey!" A boy comes up in front of me, "woah!" I took a step back. He smiles widely at me, he throws his light brown hair back and I see his blue eyes.

"Kayden Smith's girlfriend right?" He ask.

My breath hitched, "how'd you know?"

"Well... It's not easy to forget a player like him—"

"Player?" I cut him off.

"Basketball player." He corrected himself, "I seen you at his games cheering for him."

"Oh." I muttered, ready to walk away. "He's cheating on you." He says before I could.

"Who are you and why are you talking to me?" I snap at him.

"You know Melissa right?" I froze.

Do I trust him, his words?

"I am her older brother, Cameron D. Fields." I squint my eyes at him, is he being serious right now?

I walk away from him, "hey! I will buy you coffee or whatever you girls drink!" Cameron shouts.

"No, thank you."

"Starbucks?" He raises his brows, walking quickly after me. "Hey, I am trying to save your heart being broken."

"Why do you care?" I stop walking and turn around to look at him. "I see the way he treats my sister okay." Cameron says, his eyes showed anger.

I don't know what to believe.

"Stay away from him, Morgan." Nate grabs my wrist, "w-what?" I look at him. "Bye Cameron." Nate says coldly and pulls me away from him.

"Why are you always bumping into bad guys?" Nate says, holding my wrist a little too hard.

"Who was he?" I try to keep up to his pace. "A guy you need to forget you met him."

Graduation

My graduation gown is itchy and it's hot. "Alexis Morgan." I got up on the stage, take a picture with the certificate and left.

High school is finally over. Damn, it has been a hell of a ride.

"Melissa Fields."

I search the crowd, my heart thumping against my chest. He must be here too, it's his sister's graduation.

Wait, why am I finding for him?

"Hey baby," Kayden comes up behind me. "Hey." I flash a small smile at him, "say cheese!" My father comes by with his giant ass camera.

I sigh and cover my face with my hands, I do not like my pictures taken with Kayden anymore. It started because of him, he didn't want to take pictures with me; I got used to it.

He doesn't want to be seen with me, I guess.

"Nice gown, Smith." Cameron stood there in black pants and a white buttoned shirt. I can't deny, he look good.

"Nice to meet you... Alexis Anne Morgan right?" He looks at me, as if it's the first time we are meeting.

"Alexis." I play along. "So which school you going?" Cameron ask Kayden, "Michigan State." Kayden says proudly.

"Huh... Spartans." Cameron raises his brows in surprise, "well... We both will be Blue Devils." Cameron looks over at me.

"How did you know?" Kayden questions, Cameron doesn't have an answer. Neither do I.

"I don't forget remarkable players." Cameron saves himself before Kayden could interrogate any further. "She ain't that remarkable." Kayden murmurs and walks off to his family.

His mother smile at me, I smile back at her.

"I see you both are still together." Cameron put his hands in his pockets, I then see Nate walking towards us.

"It's none of your business."

I walk away from him and towards Nate, "we need to take a picture together!" Naomi cuts in.

"By the way, I bought Justin here." Naomi says to me, "erm... Okay." She grabs my hand and pulls me into a gold spot with good lighting.

JC appears in jeans and a baggy shirt, "hey J!" Naomi put her arm up in the air. Nate capturing every moment of us.

I stare into the camera, dumbfounded.

JC smiles at me, "I brought him here because I think he's interested in you." Naomi whispers into my ear.

"I have a boyfriend." I frown a little. "And he's a year young, me no like!"

Naomi squishes my face, "you talk too much."

The graduation ceremony ends and I went to have dinner with my father and my little brother. He's 7 years old and adorable!

"Order whatever you want." Father says, passes me the menu. "Dad—"

"You moving to another town—" He stops himself and let out a heavy sigh, "I can't buy you food anymore."

"No one is going to play with me." Axel pouts, his big blue eyes staring at me. Axel got my mother's eyes and my father's blonde hair. While I got both my father's blonde hair and brown eyes.

How I wish I have blue eyes.

"Guys, you can come and visit and I will come back." I stated, flipping through the menu.

My mother isn't here, kind of wish she was though. She left when Axel was 2, he could barely remember her but he still ask about her sometimes; like where is she.

We don't know where is she. I was only 11 when she left, she just took all her things... And ran away.

But we're still a happy family.

"Oh my, I am so sorry!" I look over at the other side of the restaurant. JC is there with his friend, Oliver.

JC quickly takes tissues to wipe the drink that the waitress just spilled. "It's okay." JC assured her.

"So, how are you going to meet Kayden? Michigan State is on the other end of the country." Dad ask.

I sigh, I know. I think about it everyday. He's so faraway.

"Skype is a thing, Dad." I remind him. "I don't know about the times now but college is the time to get wild! Back in my days, your momma was crazy." Dad pauses, he brought mom up out of nowhere.

"College girls... They're fun." Dad quickly changes. He put his hands to his chin, "okay, Dad... Say no more." I laugh at him.
