Last night was like a dream.
But I am not going to spend the whole day, thinking about him.
When I actually am.
But I have a game today, that's more important.
And there he is, in the seats, sitting there with a cap on his head.
My father's words repeat in my head, be the person that coach warn people about.
"Number 15, Alexis Anne Morgan!"
Oh geez, why my full name?
"Alexis Morgan is a rookie that just enrolled in Duke actually, everyone is anticipating her performance tonight against UCLA. Rumours has it that, her nickname is The Butterfly; great at rebounds and the hang-time is quite exceptional."
That makes me extremely nervous.
I guess I have to get used to that.
"3 minutes left in the 4th Quarter, Duke is leading by 20. Alexis Morgan started off shaky in the 1st quarter but she has score 29 points tonight. Not bad for a rookie, huh? 17 assists and also 8 rebounds, Duke is looking bright this year."
"How are you feeling tonight?"
I look into the camera with a nervous smile on my face, "I feel great actually, I think we started off rocky but we got the momentum eventually." I answered.
Soon, cameras surrounded me.
Oh my god.
"Will you be trying out for USA team this year?" An interviewer ask.
I shrug my shoulders, "its worth a try." I answered, "how do you feel about today's friendly?"
"It's an amazing experience, I am excited for the games to start next week, there's more to come." I simply answered, "thank you for watching me." I smiled and walks off.
"Who says that, Alexis? Thank you for watching me?" Olivia repeats what I say, I laugh, "I was nervous!"
I look back at the court where Cameron is, he has interviewers all around him too.
All the best, Fields.
Watching Cameron play is always like watching a rookie player, I mean he is but he always have new moves to show whenever he's on court. He wows everyone that is watching him.
"Cameron Fields, a rookie player that is exceptionally well loved by coaches and players. Amazing point guard vision, a great team player and scorer. Cameron Fields should look forward to playing in the NBA soon."
After his game is over and the interviews are done, Cameron met me outside the stadium.
"Where are we going?" I ask.
Cameron takes out his car keys, "I don't know..." He sings his reply. Cameron smiles and unlocks the trunk of his car.
He seems like he is in a good mood.
Well, he has new game high of 41 points. I would be this happy too.
We threw our duffel bags into the trunk and then got into the car.
"Are you ready for the NCAA?" Cameron ask as he starts the car engine, "actually don't answer that, the way you play tonight... Oof." Cameron shakes his head in disbelief.
"Potential WNBA player," Cameron glances at me as he drives out. I smiled at the thought of that, it would be nice if I make it that far.
"Look at yourself, Fields. Already the best rookie player and a NBA offer soon to come?" I retorted back at him.
