Narrator's Point Of View
Alexis didn't attend school at all. It's not weird as she missed two days of school before.
It's this weird feeling that Cameron has. He stood outside her door, ringing the bell for like the third time.
"Hey Morgan, are you okay?" Cameron put his hand on the door knob and it opens.
"Dumb." He shakes his head at Alexis and closes the door behind him.
He roams around the living room and noticed things are placed neatly. The kitchen looks like it hasn't been touched in days.
Cameron went up the stairs, fearing the worst, murder.
"Alexis." He founds her lying on the bed with the blanket over her. "What?" Alexis responded weakly.
"Are you okay?" Cameron walks towards her, "wait are you dressed?" He then stops in his tracks.
"I need... My mother." She mutters, her hand reaching out for the table. Cameron walks over and passes the phone to her.
Cameron felt the brush of her icy cold hand. Alexis drops the phone on the floor, "what happened to your face?"
Cameron noticed a small cut and bruising on the side of her cheek, "nothing..." Alexis murmurs.
Cameron then put his hand against her forehead, "geez Morgan." Cameron went to her closet to get her a coat.
"C'mon, we're going to the hospital." Cameron holds her coat on one arm and held her arm.
"Morgan, you're a strong girl. You need to work with me here." Alexis lean against Cameron's arm, she doesn't have the energy to move.
Cameron sighs and got down, he pulls Alexis onto his back and got up.
"Where are we going?" Alexis ask, feeling dizzy as Cameron brought her down the stairs. He grab the keys by the door and left her house, locking the door behind.
Cameron place her in his BMW, he puts the seat belt on for her then noticed a big bruise on her leg.
Cameron shuts the door and drives her over to the hospital. They notified Alexis' father and he's on his way over meanwhile, Cameron accompanies Alexis.
Alexis gets treatment for her bruising and got medication for her high fever, it has went down a little but she doesn't look as pale as before.
6 hours later
"I told you to take care of yourself—" Cameron wakes up to the loud argument between Alexis and her father. Axel sits in front of Cameron, watching Cameron with his big blue eyes.
"He's awake." Axel says, Alexis snaps her head at Cameron, feeling burdened and also embarrassed.
"Hi," Cameron stood up to greet her father. "Oh my god." He froze at the sight of her father, "you're James Morgan."
"Your father is an all-star NBA player!" Cameron looks at Alexis in shock, "oh my god, I am so confused." Cameron shakes James' hands. James Morgan has retired from NBA after Alexis has turned 5 years old.
James Morgan never revealed if he was married or not, he lived a private life and wants to be forgotten in the press.
"It's a pleasure to meet you..."
"Cameron, Cameron Fields!" Cameron enthusiastically introduces himself, James smiled at him. "I like to keep my family off the press, people would say my daughter got into the team because of me." James shrugs, explaining why he is so low key after he retired.
"So you play too?" James ask, "yes, yes I do." Cameron nods his head.
"You're getting too excited, Fields." Alexis mutters, noticing his big wide smile.
"Thank you for taking care of my sister, she's a fuss." Axel says before James could. They burst out laughing, "you're naughty." Alexis ruffles Axel's head.
"Thank you for taking care of my daughter, we should have dinner some time." James nods his head at Cameron, "sure." Cameron felt his heart skip a beat, a dinner with an all-star nba player.
"I need to head back, this kid need to go to school tomorrow." James pats Alexis' head, "take care of yourself well."
"Thank you for everything, Cameron." James smiles at him and left with Axel.
"Okay, its time for you to go home." Alexis says to Cameron, noticing the time and it's getting late. "No, I have so many questions." Cameron sits down and pulls the chair closer to the bed.
"Wow." That was all Cameron said.
Alexis shakes her head at him, "so where's your mother? You were searching for her." Cameron ask.
Alexis smile softly, "I don't know." She answers. Cameron chuckles lightly, "what do you mean?"
"She left the family, I haven't seen her in years."
"Oh." Cameron looks down at his hands, he just made things awkward.
"You should remember to lock your door, anyone could've gone into your house." Cameron changes the subject, frowning at her.
"Thank you, Fields." Alexis says with a smile. "You're welcome."
