"C'mon Alex." Cameron stands by the door. "You take awfully long to get ready." He complains. I took my time to walk the stairs.
He sighs at what I am wearing, the weather is cozy today so I decided to wear a black hoodie and jeans. "I don't understand why it took you so long."
Cameron is driving me to school today, I do not know why but he came knocking on my door like I owe him money.
"Let's go eat breakfast," he then smiled widely. I look down at my phone to check the time, we have an hour till class starts. I groan, "I don't eat breakfast."
"Well you should, c'mon Morgan." Cameron passes me his motorcycle helmet. I sigh and close the door behind me.
"Why can't we take your car?" I follow him down to the parking lot. "I sold the old one and buying a new one, want to follow? I am going after school today." Cameron says, getting onto the bike first.
"I don't mind, I like seeing fancy cars." I put on my helmet and place my hands on his waist. "Hold on tight." Cameron drives off.
We had breakfast at small restaurant and head to school afterwards.
"Anne!" Olivia runs towards me and jump into my arms. Olivia Perkins is one of my teammates, she's also the co-captain of the team.
"Don't be late for training tomorrow okay." Olivia pecks my forehead. Ah... She's also known to be affectionate and perky.
Olivia looks at Cameron, "don't kiss me, I have a girlfriend." Cameron says. Olivia nods her head and left.
"I love her." I smiled and then noticed JC standing behind the glass door.
"Oh it's Justin!" I pointed, he then pull out a gun from his pocket and shot the glass.
"Alexis!" Cameron grabs my arm and we begin running. My mind is blank, I am just following Cameron.
The alarm went off, I did not hear what the person say but it's probably about the shooter in school. JC.
Cameron and I hid ourselves at the last section of the library, "are you okay?" He grabs my face. "You're not hurt, right?"
I open my mouth but no words come out. I have so many questions.
"Alexis," Cameron looks into my eyes.
We heard another gun shot, I shut my eyes tightly, praying that this is just a bad dream. I hope no one is hurt.
I held Cameron's hand tightly, "don't go anywhere okay." I look into his blue eyes. "I will be here with you, don't worry." Cameron assures me.
We then hear police car sirens and choppers surrounding the campus.
Cameron intertwine our fingers and held it tightly. The library doors creak open, "Alexis Anne Morgan!"
I held my breath and a tear roll down my cheek. The sound of the gun reloading was clear as day.
"Ah... Of course, you're with Cameron."
"Come with me." JC stood in front of Cameron, "no!"
"Come with me or I will shoot her." JC points the gun at me, the hand I was holding so tightly to... Let go.
JC holds the gun on Cameron's back and I watch them slowly walk out. I gulp and stood up from my spot.
They leave the library, "Alex, what are you doing?" Olivia tug on my hand, "he-"
The gun shot went off, I fell to the ground and broke into tears. "Alex, please don't..." Olivia put her arms around me, her voice broke and tears fell.
We heard another gun shot from far. I just pray that the cops got him.
Olivia and I hug each other for I do not know how long, but we got each other and that's all that matters. "Students, follow the police officers out of the campus." The message repeats itself again.
"Olivia, let's go." I help her up, the police officer stood at the other entrance of the door. "May I know where's Cameron, Cameron Fields?" I ask him.
"Miss, please step out of the campus." Olivia grabs my arm and drags me out.
Cameron, Cameron, Cameron.
I step out of the campus and was immediately greeted by Nate. Olivia runs off to hug one of our teammates.
"Nate, where's Cameron?" I pull away from his embrace, "what...?" Nate stares at me.
"Where is he?!"
"Morgan!" I turn to the familiar voice, I spot the light brown haired boy. "Oh my god," fresh tears start to fall. I run towards Cameron and put my arms around his neck.
"Are you hurt?" I ask, pulling away. Cameron held me tightly by the waist, "no but gosh, I was so worried." He buries his head in my neck.
I let out breath of relief, "I am just glad you're okay."
"Dad, I am okay." Father storms into my loft, "do you have work tomorrow?" I ask. Axel comes trailing behind him, "Anne." Axel grabs my hand.
I held his hand and went to find my father in the kitchen, "I can't believe there was a shooter in the school." He starts to rant.
"I am so glad you're safe, honey." Father grabs my hand, a tear roll down my cheek, "it must've been scary."
"Cameron was there with me." I say, "he made sure that I was safe."
And when he left, I thought I will never see him again.
Father nods his head, "rest, you should rest."
"Axel, you're going to sleep beside me tonight." I lead Axel up the stairs, "aren't you going to at least give me a pillow or a blanket?" Father says.
I laugh, "okay wait a minute."
