Lauren's Point Of View

"You guys found what in his closet!?" Shad's eyes bulged out of his head as he rocked Raelynn in his arms. "Where the fuck did he get all that money from?"

"He wrote on the note that it's a million dollars his grandfather gave him." I huffed, running my fingers through my hair. "I'm just confused as to why he didn't tell me about this."

"I mean, look at all the shit he was hiding from you already. . ." Trevor shrugged, "he must've forgot to mention it that night he took you to dinner."

"Where's the money at anyway?" Shad asked. "Let me see it."

"We left it in the safe." I replied.

"Y'all what?" Shad exclaimed. "Why would you do some stupid shit like that?"

"Ok, first of all" I reached over and grabbed baby Raelynn from his arms, "stop cussing around her."

"Bruh, she's two months old. She don't understand shit." Shad knitted his brows. "Now, tell me why you would leave all that money unattended in a vacant home?"

"It's been unattended for two months now," I sighed, "I'm sure it'll be there when we go back. Plus, only you and Trevor know about the money so, if it goes missing, I know who's ass to beat."

"Well, what do you plan on doing with it? How are you even going to. . ." Shad flailed his arms and fell on the sofa. "I have so many damn questions."

"He left it for Raelynn." I looked at my baby in my arms and almost cried. "I'm not sure if I want it. I might just give it to his son, Kyle."

"I mean, whether you take the money or not, Raelynn is good regardless." Trevor placed his finger in Raelynn's tiny little hand. "But Dre left that money for her. I think you should honor that."

"Or at least split it," Shad added. "A million bucks ain't really nothing for us. Just make sure his son is good, you feel me?"

I placed a kiss on Raelynn's forehead as her little eyes stayed focus on mine. "I'll just wait till Sasha gets here. She'll tell me exactly what I need to do with the money."

"Are you gonna call up Mike to come pick up his ring?" Trevor walked into the kitchen.

"Yeah, yeah, I almost forgot. . ." I kissed my baby one more time before handing her back to Shad. "Hold her for a few more minutes. I gotta call Michael."

"What ring are you guys talking about?" Shad was confused.

"This ring was also in the safe." Trevor pulled the black box out of his pocket and waved in up in the air. "It was sitting on top of the cash."

"Yeah," I said, grabbing my phone to call Michael. "Andre wrote that it was for Michael. It was stolen and he got it back for him."

Trevor walked back over to Shad and opened the box, showing him the gorgeous ring. Shad's face was completely emotionless as he looked back and forth between Trevor and I.

"What?" Trevor looked at Shad with a raised brow.

"Y'all dead ass don't know what ring this is?" Shad chuckled as if Trevor and I were the dumbest people in the room.

We both looked at Shad, waiting for him to give us the rocket science answer.

Trevor shrugged, "It's just a big ass ring in—"

"Hell yeah it's a big ass ring!" Shad snatched the box from Trevor's hand, making us jump from his sudden burst. "I hope you guys didn't touch or remove this from the box. Y'all need them sophisticated white gloves to handle this shit!" Shad handed me back Raelynn and began to pace the living room, admiring the ring in his hand as if he was Gollum from Lord Of The Rings.
