Chapter 4: Work

Sydney POV

I went down stairs and grabbed my keys and purse. I went out the door and got in the car. I started it and pulled off. I pulled up and parked. I got out and went in. I walked in and they were on the stage doing a sound check. I walked on stage and went over to Luna.

"Hey." I said hugging her.

"Finally you here, I need to go." she said walking past me.

I was about to walk off stage when somebody grabbed my arm. I turned around and it was Derek. When I saw him my heart dropped.

"What's yo name?" he asked.

"Sydney." I said blushing.

"What you blushing for?" he asked me.

"Nothing." I said,"Anyways y'all set for tonight?"

"Yea, you got a boyfriend?" he asked.

"I'm in a complicated situation right now." I said sitting on the stage so my legs were dangling off.

"Talk to me." he said sitting next to me.

Reese came over there and lit a blunt.

"She don't want you bruh." he said.

"Shut up the hell up." Derek said getting mad.

"Mad ass." he said walking away.

"We can continue our conversation." he said.

"What you wanna talk about." I asked him.

"You, tell me about yo self." he said.

"Well my name is Sydney. I'm 24 and I have 4 kids. I..." I said before he cut me off.

"You got how many kids?" he asked me shocked.

"4...and before you judge me I..." I said before he cut me off again.

"I'm not about to judge you, I got a little girl at home and I have to take care of her by myself. But for a female to take care of 4 kids, I respect you." he said.

"Aww thank you." I said.

"You must be with the kid's father since you said it was complicated." he said.

"Yea but I haven't made up my mind if I really wanna get in a committed relationship with him again." I said.

"Why y'all break up?" he asked me

"Well when I was pregnant with my last kid, I found out he was selling drugs and I didn't want my family in danger. And to make matters worst he left me so." I said shrugging my shoulders.

"So you gone consider going back to him?" he asked me.

"Well I still got feelings for him and it is my kid's father" I said.

"You don't always gotta be with the kid's father." he said looking at me.

"I think it's best for the kids." I said

"It might be best for the kids but not for you. He left you in the past you don't think he'll do it again." he said.

"We'll just have to see." I said shrugging my shoulders.

We were talking for a little while and he was forreal flirting with me.

"Ms. Scott, the club will be opening in 5 minutes." my assistant said.

"Alright." I said getting up.

The boys went backstage and I went to the entrance. It. was such a huge crowd of people. The line started growing and everybody went in. About an hour in, Luna went up to the stage and got everyone's attention.

"Welcome everybody to AlOnE nightclub. I wanna thank everybody for coming out and lets give a big round of applause for the Glory Boyz." she said.

They all started screaming as they came out. Our DJ started playing the music and everybody was rapping along.

Scott POV

"Can you be quiet my kids are asleep." I said shushing her.

"Whatever Scott, that's why you should be at your house and not this ho house." Reigna said.

"Mhmmm." I said cuddling with her.

We was watching TV when we both dozed off.

Sydney POV

"Thank you everybody for coming out and let's turn up some more." Luna said exiting the stage.

I made my way through the crowd and went backstage. They was sitting on the couch and I sat by Derek.

"Thank y'all for coming." I said.

"You welcome. Y'all the only club that didn't cancel our show cuz of this nigga." Reese said pointing to Keith.

"What you mean cuz of this nigga." he said.

"Bruh they canceled us in Chicago cause of yo ass. How the hell we get cancelled in Chicago, like really." Derek said.

We was talking when the people who had backstage passes came back there. They was too excited like calm the fuck down.

"Oh My God I can't believe it!" a girl said.

The boys got up and did they autographs and pictures.

"Thank You!" they said walking from backstage.

I got up and was finna leave when I felt a tug on my shirt.

"Where you finna go?" Derek asked.

"To get a drink." I said.

He got up and followed me. We went up to the bar and sat down. We ordered our drinks and started talking.

"So what you doing tomorrow?" he said.

"With my kids." I said.

"Well I wanted to take you out like on a real date." he said sipping his drink, "with the kids too."

"Aww that's sweet, but yea we can go out tomorrow." I said.

We exchanged numbers and I gave him a hug goodbye. I said my goodbyes to Luna and the DJ and went outside. I got in my car and headed home.
