Chapter 21 - I... I like you

"So?" He asked again I was frozen, I couldn't tell him the truth.

"I guess I was jealous of him and Hunter's friendship and I guess he didn't like me getting jealous." I lied, Adi frowned.

"I'm going to class!" He said, I looked up at him in shock,

"W...wait why? Did I... did I do something wrong." I sniffed feeling tears well up again. He nodded,

"How do you expect me to comfort you when you just lie all the time?" I frowned seeing him leaving the bathroom causing me to run after him,

"I'm lying to help you!" I said once I rushed out the toilets.

"Just because I'm younger than you that doesn't mean you have to keep things from me to help me. Please Nick I just skipped lesson to talk with someone I had a really bad argument with so the least you could do is tell me!" I sighed,

"Okay. But not now after school, at your place. If that's ok with you?" He just nodded, "Wait for me at my locker." I agreed and we walked to lesson in silence together both earning a detention on Monday lunch.

After lesson I slowly made my way to Adi's locker. 'Maybe I could just go home and tell him my mum called!' I thought as I continued to walk. I didn't though I continued to go to his locker and when I arrived at his locker I saw Jojo and Cenna there. They all looked over at me; Jojo was surprised while Cenna looked disgusted.

"Are we going then?" I asked Adi. He nodded ignoring Jojo's questioning look,

"Yeah let me just get my stuff." He replied putting a final book in his bag then closing his locker saying goodbye to Jojo and Cenna. The walk to his car was in silence,

"So did you bring your car today?" He asked me as we arrived at his car. I nodded,

"Yeah, I'll meet you at your house." I said walking towards my car.

When I arrived at Adi's house we went straight to his room. It was silent for a while. The tension was killing me, I had to tell him.

"When I first met you in grade six, I always thought we could be really good friends but we never talked. Then in grade 7 when you and um... Phoebe?" He nodded.

"When you and Phoebe went out I always got this weird feeling in my stomach and I thought it was because I still liked Phoebe but I soon realized it was because I liked you. The more time we spent together the more I liked you, and I fell for you. You started dating Kelly and my heart broke, so when David kissed me I kissed back because I wanted to feel loved. We started going out and I started to really like him but my feelings for you were still strong but somehow I convinced myself I loved him, so when you confessed you liked me, I went to Jojo and he told me to ignore you so I did. The other day at David's house Jojo went to speak to me. I told Jojo that I loved David but I wasn't in love with him.David heard it all and got mad then kicked me out. I lost everyone after that but loosing you was the worst Adi because... I... I like you. No wait I'm in love with you!" I confessed.
