So this is just me rambling about ideas for the God AU in which John is the god of freedom and stuff, you've been warned.
Okay so I was thinking that maybe the last time John was on Earth was around Roman times, and he was helping lead the Third Servile War (which was this major slave uprising in Rome) and halfway through the major gods (which are the Goddess of Creation, the God of Chaos and everything that implies, and the Deity of Love who can either be a man or a woman depending on what they're feeling like that day tbh) come in all like "so we're gonna take this from here" and John doesn't want to but he doesn't really have other options so he reluctantly returns to the godly realm.
So later the major gods come to John and they're like "welp, everything's settled now. They won the war, there's no more slavery in Rome and the rest of the world followed. Everyone's happy am dandy, good job" to which John is like "uh, are you sure....???? That doesn't sound right" and so they basically tell him that if he keeps questioning the major gods he's gonna get his ass kicked out of the godly realm and so he stays put.
And so the rest I've already said. Years later John gets bored (he's basically like "this is what I get for doing such a good job") so he decides to sneak out and check out Earth, and then he lands in the middle of the American Revolution where he meets Alexander in all of his red headed glory who is willing to help him end this madness.
