Somebody commented they wanted more rants and while this isn't technically a rant it's sure me being opinionated (as always)

So, y'all know literally the only decent argument against Alexander and John being together, which is that that was the language that was used back then (because let's be honest, "they had wives" and "it was illegal" are just straight up stupid arguments) but it has sooo many things it doesn't cover which still makes it kind of a crappy argument.

And this chapter is a list of said things! Because I wanted to make one but I didn't want to publish it on Hamino or something because I'm not on the mood for a bunch of angsty teenagers yelling "HaMiLtOn HaD a WiFe He LoVeD" when nobody is even saying otherwise because they get butt hurt when somebody implies Lams was a thing.

So, if Hamilton and Laurens were just completely heterosexual dudebros who were physically unable to be attracted to anyone but their wives, then why:

-Would John Laurens hide the existence of his wife and child not only from Alexander, but most likely all of the aides, for years?

-Alexander refer to the letter people love to talk about as friendly joking as a "madness game" and seemingly spent a whole lot of time editing it. Like seriously that letter has like a bazillion changes, the guy probably spent hours on it.

-Did JC Hamilton not only censor five words but cut out half of said letter from his collection of his father's writing (and guess what, it was the part after he was done talking about the army. Who would've thought)

-Would Alexander talk about the fiancé he was so excited about marrying as essentially "eh, she's alright I guess"

-Did John refer to Alexander's marriage as a cure out of all things.

-Is Eliza apparently on the public part of Hamilton's life when his relationship with John is not.

-Would Alexander need to reassure John that he wouldn't be any less d e v o t e d to him after marriage

-Would JC Hamilton just straight up not publish this said letter. At all. Not a single sentence.

And there are probably more but these are the ones I mostly think about. So yeah, it's not only about how flowery the language was.
