(I think these people forget Steuben had to have lovers of the same gender in order to be known as a gay man, meaning he was obviously not the only one breaking the law cause he was always surrounded by other non-straight guys like William North, Benjamin Walker, Alexander and John though I don't know if that was the greatest coincidence of them all, later in life Charles Adams and John Mulligan, and so on. Not to mention guys who were actually kicked out of the army during the revolution for sodomy and therefore most likely not straight— IT JUST DOESNT MAKE SENSE FOR PEOPLE TO SAY NOBODY WAS GAY CAUSE IT WAS ILLEGAL WHEN CLEARLY NOBODY GAVE A SHIT)
